First requirement: 10% Second and all additional requirements: 7% Special Sections: Directory $35 for the first 20 words, $.75 per word each additional word. The following each count as one word: each standard word, set of initials, or abbreviation, entire business or personal name (within reason), street address, city, state initials and ZIP, 10 digit phone number. Discounts: For multiple placement contracts: 5% discount of contract net if entire contract paid in advance of first placement. Rate protection: Extended contract advertising is protected from rate increases for the duration of the contract. Discounts do not apply to charges for in-house production, artwork or late payment charges. In-house design of ads: ad 20% to the cost of the first ad. Design arrangements must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the advertising deadline. Multiple insertions must run consecutively to get the discount. Mechanical Requirements: 1. Macintosh format is preferred, although PC format is accepted. 2. The following file types are accepted: -TIFF files -EPS files (fonts outlined) -PDF files with fonts correctly embedded. Corrupt PDFs or PDFs with incorrectly embedded fonts will be subject to production charges 3. Color files should be CMYK. We cannot accept spot colors. 4. Collect all support files for ad, including fonts (printer and screen font) and imports. 5. Digital line scans must be at least 1200 dpi, digital photo scans must be at least 300 dpi at actual print size. 6. Digital submission is preferred for all ads. However, we will accept camera-ready art for black and white ads. If camera-ready art is supplied, RC paper/velox is preferred. If a laser print is sent, artwork should be 100% black. Medlife Journal is not responsible for the quality of reproduction of an ad sent with grey tones unless it is sent digitally. 7. Ad art will be accepted on CD, 3.5 floppy, zip disk, or email*. You may also call us for FTP information. Ad files are accepted via email in order to meet deadlines. Files should be zipped or stuffed into archives. Identical files should be sent on disk. Medlife Journal is not responsible for files that are corrupt or become unreadable via internet transfer. 8. Please provide the name and phone number of the ad designer. Be sure to submit a hard copy of the ad along with the digital files. 9. For provided creative, preflight production (checking files, ad placement) is included in the cost of your ad.
