The Ukrainian Journal of radiology

 

Since 1993 the Institute has published "Ukrainian Journal of radiology", a scientific practical journal devoted to the problems of radiation diagnosis, radiation therapy, radiation biology, radiation medicine, radiation hygiene, physics of radiology. The Institute publishes methodological documents prepared its specialists (methodical recommendations, instructions, information letters).

Instructions to authors

 

General

 

The Ukrainian Journal of Radiology publishes research articles, literature reviews in all fields of radiology and radiation oncology, reports of cases, materials on radiology history, digests of radiology and other materials according to the decision of the editorial board.

The texts should be prepared using Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals ( www.icmje.org ) in the Ukrainian language.

The articles should be submitted in three copies.

The title page should carry the following information: The title of the article, authors' names and institutional affiliations, corresponding authors, the name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the author responsible for correspondence about the manuscript.

The first page of the article should carry the title followed by the text of the article.

The manuscripts must contain the materials which have not been published elsewhere or have not been submitted for publication.

The editorial board does not bear responsibility for the views of the authors and retains the right to shorten and correct the articles as well as to publish them in the form of short communications (by the authors' agreement).

The research article should not exceed 10 double spaced pages (including tables, figures, figure captions and references), analytical literature review - 12 pages (the number of references not exceeding 80), book reviews - 2 pages, short communications - 4 pages.

The manuscript should be accompanied by the cover letter and three copies of a structured abstract consisting of the following: Objective, Material and Methods Results, Conclusion, and Key words up to 7 words or short phrases (for research articles). A 3.5" diskette with the text of the article in Word format (.doc or .rtf files) should be enclosed.

The photos should be sharp, glossy prints measuring 13X17 cm. Letters, numbers, and symbols on the photos should be clear and legible.

The electronic version of the figures and photos should be in .TIFF format at 300 dpi. ARJ or Win RAR may be used. Type or print out legends for illustrations using double spacing, on a separate page.

International System of Units (SI) should be used in the articles.

The names for the diseases should be given according to International Classification of Diseases.

When reporting experiments on animals the authors should indicate the method of euthanasia.

The decision on publication is made after the article has been peer-reviewed by three revivers and the authors has made the respective changes in the manuscript of the article.

The manuscripts which do not meet these requirements will not be registered.

Refusal from publication is not always accompanied by explanations of the reasons. The manuscripts, which are not accepted for publication, will not be sent back to the authors.

•  Whether the legends are written according to Instructions to authors.

•  Whether basic procedures of the study or investigation are described according to the Instructions to authors.
