Seize the unique opportunity to meet, question, and socialize with other adventurers that climbed Kilimanjaro, Everest, and Mt. McKinley. UCPBA of Toronto with the Children of Chornobyl Canadian Fund introduces a new film by Bohdana Zwonok called “Risking…significance!” The journey begins in Ukraine (2003) while accompanying her mother during the voyage to reconnect with her Slavic ancestry. Born in Canada, she tries to keep her ethnic ties and still develop her own identity while finding a place in the multicultural mosaic. This is one of the main factors that prompt her toward linking a climb up Mount Kilimanjaro to provide medical equipment sent by the CCCF to the poorest clinic in Ukraine, which treats the Children of Chornobyl. We will also have an opportunity to hear of the climbing, which was done by Buck Semehen and Danylo Darewych .
