For almost half a year, a new branch of our company has been working and developing successfully in Lugansk, one of the largest industrial centers in Eastern Ukraine.
The official date of the branch’s opening is March 7, 2006. At the present moment, a group of specialists and 5 programmers are on the design management staff, and they have already achieved considerable results in their work.

Delivery of the fourth release of Integrated Power Management Solution for Linux.
This version includes required user interaction functions, manual and last improvements required for release 3. At this moment Intel Architecture 32 bit (IA32) is supported and 64-bit architectures will be included. All Linux systems based on kernel 2.6 are supported; they include SuSE 9.X, Fedora 3, Fedora 4, Mandrake 10.X and a line of Red Hat Enterprise operating systems.

The graphical user interface of the Storage Area Network solution is improved.
The graphical user interface (GUI) of the Storage Area Network solution (SAN) is improved; the monitors for monitoring the state of the system have been added to the home pages of the File System Manager (SCSI RAID) and the Storage Manager (Tape Library Manager). The monitors gather information about File Systems: total/used/free space on SCSI disks or SCSI RAID, about available modes, the quantity of candidates for truncation and storing. Also monitors show information about tape library types: SCSI, Fiber Channel (FC), etc., library state, library mode and a list with tape drives information.

The development of a new version of the Tape Controller.
The new version (2.6) of the Tape Controller is being developed. This version will basically include the fixes of the bugs detected earlier, about 40 bug fixes. The new version will support Windows 2003 platform. Another new version (3.0) is being planned. Besides bug fixes it will incorporate the developments which will significantly improve the whole solution (software + hardware) reliability.

Development of the new version of the Storage Area Network Solution.
AIDOSS started developing the new version of the Storage Area Network Solution (SAN):  v 2.7 FS. The support of IBM 3592 drives and media will be added to the Storage Area Network solution. Since now the Storage Area Network (SAN) solution will support drives and media of the following types: AIT, LTO, IBM 3590, IBM 3592, IBM 9840 and IBM 9940.
The support of Netscape 7.0 browser will be added to the web-based graphical user interface (GUI) of the SAN. Since this time it will support, as minimum, these browser requirements: 
• Mozilla 1.4;
• IE 5.5 and  6.0;
• Firefox 1.0;
• Netscape 4.7 and 7.0.
E-mail Notification subsystem will be added to the Storage Area Network solution. It will allow notifying Storage Area Network system administrators and developers about warnings and problems that arise inside system. Correspondent wizard will be added to the graphical user interface (GUI). It will help to configure e-mail notification subsystem.

Opening the new AIDOSS office.
AIDOSS is glad to announce the opening of the new AIDOSS office. The Company director Andrew K. said that this does not only mean better working conditions for the company employees, but also a real perspective for the company to grow in the employee number and in the number of the company projects. The cutting-edge equipment of the new office will provide for better collaboration with the company customers as well as attracting new once (those are companies interested in offshore software development).

Fnishing the new version of Storage Area Network solution.
Specialists of AIDOSS company are glad to announce finishing the new version of Storage Area Network solution (SAN). At present the SAN server and clients can be installed on the following UNIX-based operating systems:
• IBM AIX 5.2 (64-bit);
• SGI IRIX 6.5.19f, 22f and 6.5.19m; 22m and 23m; 25m and 26m;
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server 3.0 (32- and 64-bit);
• SuSE Linux 8.1 (Enterprise Edition);
• Solaris 8 and 9 SPARC (64-bit);
• HP-UX 11iv2 (ia64 and pa-risc).
Web-based graphical user interface (GUI) of the Storage Area Network system based on HTML, CGI, PERL technologies allows administrators and assigned users administrating the SAN all around the world. The Storage Area Network system uses correctly mapped SCSI Logical Unit Numbers (LUN) in the customer SAN. The Storage Area Network system can support several SCSI cards installed on the machine, and simultaneously several types of FC (Fiber Channel) Host Bus Adaptor (HBA) installed on the machine. New powerful features for administrating have been added to the SAN: enhanced CLI interface between media libraries and Storage Area Network File System Manager, improved graphical user interface for supporting new SAN features. The Backup system supports primary and secondary backup or both of them. GUI Reports System provides detailed information about previously run backups.

Start of the development of the solution for providing a platform for storage software products.
AIDOSS specialists started a new project which is aimed at developing the solution for providing a reliable and functionally reachable platform for storage of all software products of the Customer. The most important features which the solution will provide the Customer with are:
• transparent support for SCSI initiator/target mode;
• clustering, intelligent monitoring and management, etc.
The solution runs under LINUX operating system. It offers unified API mode applications that solve different storage tasks.

Porting Integrated Power Management Solution on Linux.
The development of Linux version of the product is aimed to wider the range of supported operating systems. From now the product can be integrated in multiplatform business solutions, based on wide range of operating systems. It includes family of Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95/98/Me/2000/XP/2003 operating systems and family of Linux based on kernels of version 2.6. It supports all ways of UPS connection – USB, serial and network Ethernet.

Delivery of version 1.0.6 of Power Management Solution Win32.
The new version supplies more user interaction of core functions, increasing the product usability. Users are alerted about significant power management events immediately by prompting or sending Alerter service messages or e-mail, depending on configuration. It includes last improvements and is more stable. The administrative tool has been improved significantly; it is much more user-friendly and stable. It provides users with easy-to-understand, suitable user interface for configuring abilities of power management system. The administrative tool is a cross-platform application based on Java technology which allows configuring the system from a machine of almost any platform. Also, it provides ability to monitor online status of all the UPS-s in the local area network (LAN) from one host machine.

Start of the development of the total Storage Area Network solution.
AIDOSS specialists started participation in a new project which provides the Customer with the total Storage Area Network solution.  The three major components of the project are:
• the special virtual file system;
• volume manager;
• tertiary manager.
GUI which is a part of the project allows the system administrator to operate more effectively and conveniently the special virtual file system, volume manager and tertiary manager in full through a single interface.  The project provides the capability to operate in the basic mode or to enter an advanced mode.  In all the user's situations the extensive help is available.
