[] SIGNIFICANT EVENTS!!! NEWS in BRIEF Christian Radio Talks about Christian Music Everyone has an opinion about styles of worship music within the church. Recently, this issue became the main topic of an interactive conference on Emmanuel radio with the Dean of Music faculty member, Natalia Homenko and a member of the UETS worship team, Anya Mykoliuk, who is also a student in the non-resident program at UETS. Art and music are important expressions for every believer. When we come to a knowledge of God, believers must do our best to be sure everything we read, watch, listen to or use in our worship reflects our faith and wholeness in Christ. The role of creative arts, music in this instance, is in the very foundation of the Christian life. God looks for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, and it is our responsibility to ask ourselves a question: What is the place of the music in Christian life? What songs should we sing and listen to in our spare time? In church? At home? The truth is one in the same because music should bring wholeness as it accurately expresses God's truth We all have been given specific gifts and talents from God, and when we face His presence, our hearts start beating in unison with His Spirit. Our music program at UETS is designed to give УtechnicalФ musical skills, but also to widen our mindset in Christian culture and to know more about what Bible teaches about praise and worship. Graduation - 2006!!! More than 300 teachers and students, graduators and staff members of the UETS, church ministers and guests from Ukraine and abroad gathered in UETS chapel in September 16 for the official Graduation Ceremony. 47 ministers got the diplomas and degrees in Theology. Among them there are the first seven Bachelors of the UETS non-resident program. Anatole Gloukovskyy, UETS Rector : УThe Seminary is not just an academic process, but also a spiritual; progress that allows us to strengthen ourselves in faith, ministry and God's call. This is an opportunity for harmonic development of body, soul and spirit. For knowledge is only the beginning of the way, because knowledge must be followed by understanding and knowledge. This brings understanding and wisdom given by God . One of the very important factors is our faithfulness which is a real challenge to our generation Ц faithfulness to call, to church and GodФ. Vasily Raitchinetz, Superintendent of the Ukrainian Free Churches Union : УUETS staff members tried to fill its students with truth and holiness, gave them good water, ready to be drunk. What really matters is not the form of a cup but what is insideФ. Valery Rodionov, non-resident program graduator, pastor of the Ark church, Kremenchuk : УUETS became an important part of my life. Our ways are strongly connected. Studying in the UETS bring total revolution in our brains, gives us new knowledge and friends. And it is great to have such a holidays though I am so sorry to say good bye to old friendsФ. Tatiana Pakhomova, Music Department graduator : Уwe all are one church of Jesus Christ . The seminary is a great bridge between various churches and denominations . We worship our God with many ways, but we are one in spirit. And I envy other students Ц they will study in the UETS this Academic year. Ф It is a good tradition to have graduation in September when the first year students start their studies. The graduation passed, and the Seminary will keep its activity on God's field, always looking forward to hear from its graduators and being ready to support them when times get tough. 2006 September 26 Ц Pastor of the New Time Church , Vadim Uruimagov, preached on the importance of making good decisions in our chapel service. 19 Ц УAll we have, we have from God.Ф This was the topic of the sermon by Rudy Rap, leader of the team from Key of Life Church, Australia. The team came to Ukraine in order to serve the students and staff members of UETS, and also to teach in the local churches from the seminar called УSearch for IntimacyФ. 13 - We are thankful to Dr. Manfred Kohl for his participation in UETS Ministry, for sharing the word during the morning student chapel about Jesus' teaching and such aspects of it as serving, giving and natural talent. 11-12 Ц UETS Council-board, where further strategic plans of the UETS ministry and development were discussed. 4 Ц UETS morning service. Dean of Theology and Christian service program Sergei Flyugrant shared an insightful sermon with staff and students, about what a good man is in God's eyes - important evidences of the Christian life like obedience , humility and worship of God. August 31 Ц UETS staff meeting where we discussed important questions and plans about seminary service development for 2006-2007 educational year. 22-26 Ц the conference organized by Kiev's church УThe ArkФ together with international mission ФGood NewsФ took place in the UETS. The topic of the conference was УLife by faithФ. We welcome all the recipients. 5-12 Ц the UETS receives Christian Children Camp organized by Kiev 's church У Philadelphia Ф by pastor Kozachok. We wish all children to enjoy their rest. July 26-27 Ц NLI seminar for pastors and leaders took place. The topic of the seminar is Children's and Youth ministry. We are happy to welcome all the participants. 17 Ц we welcome all the students of the annual Youth Ministry School for youth leaders and ministers. 13-15 Ц in Kyiv, in Sports Palace All-Ukrainian youth conference СMy Time' took place. One of organizers of the conference was the Youth Line Ministry, director Andrew Gloukhovsky. More than 25 hundreds of young men, willing to serve God, came to this conference. 3 - first week of studies at the UETS non-resident department for 159 ministers from various regions of Ukraine and beyond. June 16 Ц we welcomed UETS graduates of 2004 and 2005 who came to Graduates meeting. 8-14 - Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary welcomed its friend, missioners from Australia doctor Lindsey and Belinda Bishop. Together with the mission organization СDoctors without Borders' they minister all over the world, preaching the Word of God and offering free dental service. During their visit Lindsey and Belinda discussed the possibility of establishing the charity dental clinic in Kyiv and served staff members of the UETS with dental service. 15-17 - interchurch conference with pastors Nickolay Ezhov (Life in Chist church, Cremenchuk) and pastor Vadim Uruimagov (New Time church, Kyiv) took place in UETS. 6 - official beginning of 9 th council of the Free Churches Union. We welcome all the pastors and leaders of the Union who gathered at the campus of the UETS for meeting. May 28 to 30 - we welcome in our campus Encounter Conference led by kyivan churches Living Word (pastor Anatole Gavryliuk) and New Time (pastor Vadim Uruimagov) . 19 - the last communion service where 30 graduators gave thanks to God for His help and blessings 17 - We are thankful to pastor Anatoly Kalyuzhniy, the pastor of mega church ''New life'' in Kiev for his participation in morning student chapel and for sharing the word of attitude of Christian men to their ministry and life generally. 13 - UETS team express appreciation to Messianic community '' Gates of Sion'' in Odessa (pastor Alexander Papazov) for the opportunity to worship God together. Efim Fingerman, the Head of Fundraising and Communication Department of UETS, shared the word of edification and encouragement with the church. We were pleased to serve messianic people and hope for further cooperation with them. 10 - Morning chapel service for students and staff at UETS took place with the ministry of pastor B. Habarov from Ternopil. He shared a Word about the importance of vision, calling and goals in the life of a Christian minister.
