ÐÓÑ [index.html] ABOUT GALLERY TECHNOLOGY CLIENTAGE HOME Michael Antipoff. “My first knowledge of modeling I have got in 1978 at the model workshop “Kievproect”, before my leaving for the Army. At that time a very strong group of specialists worked there, who were the followers of modeling school, using technologies that had been selected at the time of foundation of “Kievproect”. It is pity that nowadays the workshop does not practically exist and the traditions are not passed any more… After my serving in the Army I got to the “Kievengeproect”, to the group of architect Yuriy Juckoff. He taught me to be painstaking in making details of a model. Being a creative man Y. Juckoff could not only to show how to create any kind of curved form using an ordinary paper with one’s own hands, but he also could wonderfully combine different ranges of colors, numerous shades of grey. In 1987 after 5-years work of photographer in publishing house of ”Kievskaya Pravda” I was employed by architect S.Babushkeen. Sergey Vyacheslavovich Babushkeen is “second father” for me and I know that I can rely upon him when it’s hard times for me. His industriousness shows the necessary way of achieving one’s aim. When Sergey Vyacheslavovich had got to know I could make models that was he who defined my future life. I am very grateful to him for that. At first privately owned enterprise “Format” was busy with serving architects and not big independent designing work. After coming of experienced professional model-maker Alexander Ploskonos the workshop became specialized at making architectural models only. My companion Alexader Grigorevich is by right one of the founders of our workshop for 10 years already. Now he is director of the privately owned enterprise “Format”. Alexander Ploskonos’ knowledge in the sphere of processing of materials gave us ability to use wide range of materials: from glass to metals, - made forms of our models perfect and clear, that made the level of our work higher and more professional.” The staff of the workshop is constantly changed. That is because no educational institution prepares specialists for making architectural models. Technologies are perfected during the long term and modelers become masters after years of work in a workshop. In different times we employed students of Kiev National University of Building and Architecture, who became employees of architectural bureaus and are our customers nowadays. 10 years – is not a short term. During the last years our workshop generally makes models for exhibitions or representations. They are exhibited in museums and different offices are adorned with our works.
