The Board members of the Odessa Development Corporation have endorsed the project and agreed to participate equally with Andrews and Midland Development Corporation by allocating $500,000 to the project. The Board’s opinion is that if the project were submitted to the federal government and awarded, it would have a major impact on the economy and participating entities, as well as result in increased post graduate research at the UTPB campus in Odessa, as well as the CEED campus in Midland County. It is understood that it is necessary for the participating entities to contribute a total sum of $1.5 million which along with other private contributions that will total at least $3 million to will fund the purchase of the core reactor plans and specifications to be used in the Pre-Conceptual Design.
