SandHills Stock Show and
Rodeo
First week in January. This annual January schedule makes this event one of
the first rodeos on the PRCA circuit. Cowboys & cowgirls compete for top
prizes. The only stock show strictly dedicated to the Hereford breed. Other
activities include: Quarter horse show, rodeo, dances and a Tex-Mex barrel

Cinco
de Mayo Celebration
First weekend of May. Mexico's Independence from France became official on "Cinco
de Mayo!" Odessa celebrates "Cinco de Mayo" with a variety of festivals. Begin
the holiday with a parade and an all day fiesta hosted by LULAC and the Basin
Barrio Lions Clubs. Another exciting event to experience during the holiday is
"Fiesta West Texas". This three-day event is held at the Ector County Coliseum
and provides fun for all ages. Enjoy a carnival, live entertainment, authentic
food booths and the experience of traditional Mexican customs.
Juneteenth Celebration
Second weekend of June or the weekend closest to June 19th. A celebration of
historic excellence, this event is designed to provide an opportunity for people
of color to reflect on the contributions African Americans have made to the
American culture. Woodson Park is the site for many Juneteenth activities such
as the Heritage Banquet, Scholarship presentation, Little Miss Beauty Pageant
and Basketball Tournament. The celebrations start with a Juneteenth Parade. For

July
4th Celebration
Independence Day brings people out for a day of fun and festivities. Firecracker
Fandango is a citywide festival created to provide family fun-filled activities.
The Jaycees parade kick off the fun proceeding from Odessa College to the ECISD

Permian
Basin Fair & Exposition
Beginning the Friday after Labor Day each year. The Permian Basin's largest
annual event; Nine fun-filled days, featuring live entertainment, livestock
show, great food, petting zoo, carnival, arts and crafts and much more. For more

Air Sho
First full weekend of October. The Commemorative Air Force headquarters hosts
its exciting air show. Focus of the annual show is the "Ghost Squadron's"
awesome re-enactment of World War II's battle scenes, The American Airpower
Heritage Museum is internationally recognized for its collection of authentic

Harvest
Fair
Last weekend in October. The Harvest Fair is held at the Ector County Coliseum
building G. Vendors from all over the state exhibit and sell their crafts. For

Merry
Market Place
First Thursday through Sunday in November. A winter wonderland fills the Ector
County Coliseum with beautiful gifts of all kinds. The Junior League of Odessa
sponsors this event to help support their many worthwhile projects. It's a great

Ye Old
Christmas Fair
Last weekend in November. Twenty-eight shopping days until Christmas! The "Ye
Old Christmas Fair" is filled with vendors that have handmade wares for all

Heritage Holiday Festival & Parade
In the first week of December, the annual Heritage Holiday Festival begins with
the lighting of the Christmas tree that shines for all of West Texas to see. "Starbright
Village", is a wonderful place to enjoy a walk through festive lighted
