The C-21 represents an amazing combination of design and technology. Enclosed within the cameras' ultra compact body is a powerful 2,140,000 pixel 1/2" CCD and a high resolution lens to ensure stunning photographic results. A TTL autofocus and digital ESP TTL light metering system further enhance the camera's performance. To give the photos a more personal touch, the C-21 also allows the adjustment of a number of settings for greater creative control. Its 4.5 cm LCD allows the immediate screening of shots.

Although barely larger than a double pack of audio tapes and weighing just 190 g, the ultra-compact Olympus CAMEDIA C-21 still makes a big impression. Within its tiny yet extremely robust aluminium alloy casing, this easy-to-use innovation employs a powerful 2.1 million pixel 1/2" CCD, high resolution lens and precise TTL focusing and light metering to guarantee super-sharp photos. Extremely energy efficient, it comprises a veritable treasure-trove of features.

It is only slightly larger than a double pack of audio tapes and weighs just 190 g. But harboured within the durable aluminium alloy casing of the sophisticated 2.1 million pixel CAMEDIA C-21 from Olympus, are many remarkable digital camera innovations. Besides featuring a powerful 1/2" CCD, the easy to operate camera also includes a high resolution lens, 2.5x digital tele and adjustable ISO sensitivity.

With the CAMEDIA C-21, Olympus may have set a new record for compactness in the two million pixel plus category. Thanks to the new square design, it has been possible to incorporate the latest digital camera technology for super-sharp pictures into the smallest of bodies.

By comparing the differences in contrast between objects sighted in the viewfinder, the digital compact camera's TTL autofocus with lens driving system always ensures precise focusing. Optimal exposure is guaranteed by a programmed centre weighted digital ESP TTL light meter while exposure compensation may also be adjusted to +/- 2 EV.

Probably the smallest and lightest digital camera currently available in its class, the C-21 provides even more room for creative opportunities. An impressive range of settings may be controlled manually. Not only can the white-balance be adjusted, it is also possible to select from three different digital zoom factors or change the focus and equivalent ISO sensitivity.

An energy marvel

The CAMEDIA C-21 is the first digital camera equipped with a new lithium battery pack. Under favourable conditions it is liable to take hundreds of shots before the batteries need to be recharged or substituted. The C-21 might therefore be able to claim the title of undisputed energy marvel among digital cameras. Immediate image verification To enable the immediate screening of shots, the camera is equipped with a 4.5 cm LCD. The display, which also includes a brightness control, may equally be used as a viewfinder and even allows 4, 9, or 16 images to be shown simultaneously if required.

Innovative and simple operation

Despite the broad range of functions, the CAMEDIA C-21 is distinguished by its remarkable user-friendliness. The key to this was to reduce the number of control knobs and switches to a minimum. Instead, the camera lets itself be managed via an arrow-key button that allows functions to be quickly and easily triggered with the fingertips.

This ultra-compact digital camera innovation will be shipped with a SmartMedia storage card with panorama function as well as CAMEDIA Suite software.
