QA Outsourcing Our team has completed a QA outsourcing project for a North American company, specializing in network and systems administration software solutions (patch installation over networks, remote hardware and software scanning and reporting, etc). Message Router Message Router is a tool which helps integration of different systems. It supports various communication and messaging protocols, is easily configurable and logs all of its activities. It consists of several modules, including data replication module and integration with accounting software. Please follow the link to TruckBusiness project page. Team: 2 programmers, duration: 12 months Gantt Chart Requirement for this project was to develop an ActiveX control, which would display schedule information in a Gantt chart, and be fast enough to cope with tens of thousands of tasks at once. Repair Trax Description: The system is used for medical equipment repair process automation at General Electric Company. All data concerning the Equipment and its repair stage is stored in the database. Features: Monitoring the particular equipment at each stage of the repair process Generating different kinds of reports (repair cost estimation, work orders, etc.) Getting the equipment supplemental information Environment: 3-tier architecture, with backend: MS SQL Server middle tier: COM+ (Visual Basic, ADO) front-end: Visual Basic, ADO. Team: 4 programmers, duration: 6 months Sensor Tracking Description: The program displays figures and graphics of measurements of sensors located along railway tunnels, allows monitoring intensity of surface shifts. Environment: ASP and VBScript, MSAccess database to store sensors readings. Server part runs on IIS and the end user can access it using Microsoft Internet Explorer. Team: 1 programmer, duration: 1 month. Insurance Software Description: The program deals with insurance policies and quotations. Features: To keep policies/quotations history To create reports on them for specified time period The program supports policies/quotations creation for multiple insurance and broking companies Policies/quotations can be created either in British pounds or in Euros Created policies/quotations can be exported and imported by the program. Environment: Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server. Export/import is done using MSAccess database format. Team: 2 programmers, duration: 2 months. XML Parser Description: An XML Parser wrapper was developed using Objective C for Linux. Complete implementation of both DOM and SAX interfaces was created. This work was a requirement of one of our customers so they can include it in their software projects. Environment: ObjectiveC, GPL, Linux. Team: 1 programmer, duration: 6 weeks. Data Entry Description: DataEntry project is a part of Sequoia XML Portal Server (XPS) developed by Sequoia Software , USA. The task given to TechWire was to create a "snapin" to integrate into XPS an ability to create, store and display custom data entry forms. Features: client software using Visual Basic; server software using VisualC++ and ATL; storing data as XML documents; MS SQL Server to store forms' data; ASP used to manage the system and generate stored forms to be accessed via WAN. Environment: MS VisualC++ 6.0, ATL, MS Visual Basic 6.0 and MS SQL Server 7.0. Team: 5 programmers, duration: 3 months. Vacuum Simulation System Description: VacSim vacuum system simulation software was developed by Technology Sources Ltd , Cambridge, UK several years ago. The task given to TechWire was to create a completely new version of the software, using Visual C++ and Microsoft Jet Database Engine. Features: complicated CAD to construct the simulated vacuum system using modules included in the components library; real-time integration with external SPICE simulation library; real-time chart component displaying current simulation results. Environment: MS VisualC++ 6.0 with MFC, and MS Jet Database Engine. Team: 4 programmers, duration: 3 months.
