Medical Center Hospital (MCH) in Odessa, Texas provides comprehensive and compassionate medical care to the residents of Ector County, as well as the 17 surrounding counties of the Permian Basin. Built in 1949, the original hospital was established with 85 beds and has expanded to its current licensed capacity of 363. MCH received its initial JCAHO accreditation in 1957. The hospital offers an array of healthcare services including a complete maternal-child program, rehabilitation therapy, diagnostic testing and a complete cardiovascular services program for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of heart disease. Medical Center Hospital has a 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department. The hospital also offers a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery and an Ambulatory Surgery Unit for same day procedures. Medical Center Hospital was designated in 1979 as the primary teaching hospital for Texas Tech University’s Regional Academic Health Sciences Center of Odessa. Programs include resident training in family medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, and internal medicine, as well as a nursing and allied health school. Medical Center Hospital is the second largest employer in Odessa, with more than 1400 employees. Over 200 physicians are on staff at MCH practicing nearly 30 medical specialties. As an Ector County Hospital District owned facility, MCH receives about ten percent in tax appropriations for operations. The remaining portion of revenue is derived from direct patient payments or from third party payors. The hospital is governed by a seven member district board of directors elected by the voters of Ector County. Privacy Pledge: MCH respects your privacy.
