The Eighth Day of Molodist: Wajda’s “Afterimage”, red carpet and closing ceremony

In the morning, Kyiv Cinema held a press screening of the closing film “Afterimage” by Andrzej Wajda. The main character of the film is the famous Polish artist Władysław Strzemiński: “When we look at an object, our eyes hold its imprint. When we stop looking and shift our gaze towards something else, our eyes see its afterimage, the stain in its shape, but of a different colour. Afterimage is the colour inside the eye that looked at a subject. People actually see only what they understand.”

The Blue Hall of the Kyiv Cinema presented the film “Sand Storm” by director Elite Zexer (Israel, France).

In Cinematheque, the festival announced the winners of the Ecumenical and the FIPRESCI Jury, and the Red Hall of the Kyiv Cinema held a presentation of the film “Not-Present Time” by Lithuanian director Mykolas Vildžiūnas.

At the Ivan Franko Theatre, honoured guests walked the Red Carpet of the festival, heading to the closing ceremony of “Molodist”. The closing film of the festival was AFTERIMAGE by Andrzej Wajda. Meanwhile, Kyiv Cinema hosted the French “Long Nights of Short Films”.
