As Docudays UA celebrates the fourteenth year of its existence, it’s about time for the festival to become much more mature. This year, the festival is launching its own industrial platform. Chоrnobyl [IN]visible is a new project from the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Centre, which consists of 15 Ukrainian documentary films about the events before and after the 1986 accident. In autumn Docudays UA together with America House invites to a film and discussion program ‘Propaganda 2.0: new dimensions’. Meetings will take place each second Friday from September to October. Beginning is at 19.00.

On October 2 within the project The School of Image and Evidence at The School of Kyiv - Kyiv Biennial 2015 a presentation The Guardian goes to Ukraine will be held. Organizers of the Ukrainian competition for young documentary filmmakers – British Council and Docudays UA – will comment on the project idea, participation conditions and screen four films that were shot by foreign directors specifically for The Guardian.

First ever Catalogue of the Ukrainian documentary, listing films produced in 2013-2015. It includes short, medium-length, feature-length and films in production. Catalogue was created by the team of Docudays UA with the financial support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.

Two days of cinema and debate, special events and Q&A discussions exploring the realities of modern Ukraine and the depth of Ukrainian cinema, on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May 2015 at London’s Frontline Club

On Saturday, 16 May at London’s Frontline Club there will be discussions with Serhiy Bukovsky, the famous ukrainian documentalist. Michael Stewart, the founder of Open City Docs Festival (UK) and Darya Bassel, program coordinator of Docudays UA spoke with the director about early ukrainian documentary and changes in approach to it comparing to contemporary times.

This year Docudays UA prepared a special non-competition program DOCU/Energy. Screenings were supplemented by training on energy efficiency in everyday life, conducted as part of the human rights program of the Festival. This multifaceted program was organized with the support of Heinrich Böll Foundation in Kyiv.

Andrei Rus is a Romanian film critic and cinema theorist and is now a member of the Docu / Short jury. In his conversation with Stanislav Bityutsky, the chief editor of Cineticle, he talks about his vision of film criticism, documentary films, and considers his favorite movie genre, the diary, about which he will speak more during his workshop.

It is time for our great surprise: the opening film of this year’s Docudays UA is the controversial Donetsk People’s Republic Or the Curious Tale of the Handmade Country. It is an important and excruciating film with 16+ age restriction. Why did we choose it?

Almost a quarter century ago, the dissolution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia began. The bloody conflicts it caused have been continuing in the region for ten years. What does life in these areas look like nowadays? Our festival program Ex-Yugoslavia: Reconciliation diversely illustrates these complex processes of returning to peaceful life.

After Mikheil Saakashvili was appointed a counselor of the President Petro Poroshenko, friendship between Georgia and Ukraine got political connotations; and Docudays UA non-competition program Georgia effect, which covers today’s situation in the country, turned into a must-see.

This year our traditional festival program DOCU/RT, which started symbolically two years ago with the film Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, refocuses.

All our events are interesting and important but they are so numerous that we decided to select five events which will be of interest to any one no matter how familiar he or she is with human rights subject.

This year best films of the competition program DOCU/LIFE together with her colleagues will be chosen by a Dutch director of Russian origin, Aliona van der Horst. Docudays team has long ago dreamt of inviting her to Ukraine. And finally this came true! Galya Vasylenko, a festival guide editor, speaks about the key which helps to get a clue to films directed by this talented film-maker. Further Aliona herself speaks about her return to Ukraine.

Perhaps all the films from the Ukrainian collection of the festival are worth preserving as documentary evidence of the time.

DOCU/CLASS is a clean space where cinema concepts exist. Not less and sometimes more vivid than a screening room.

This year for the first time we launch a program of documentary films for children DOCU/KIDS.

Now Docudays UA will start at 10 a.m. and will finish with the last metro train.

From November 19-30, the international documentary industry once again gathered in Amsterdam for the 27th edition of IDFA.

On 4th of November the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur starts. This year the festival has incleded the program "EUkraine".

Tomorrow in the museum “Cultural Treasures of Ukraine” will start a “Donculture – cultural depths“ Forum dedicated to cultural achievements of Donbas. The event will present an exhibition, concert, literature and film program in which Docudays UA will participate with the film “The Coalminer’s day” directed by Gaël Mocaër.

On October 22–30, the 8th Human Rights Film Festival "Inconvenient Films" will be held in Vilnius. In cooperation with Docudays UA, it will present a special program Ukraine.doc.

Among the members of a major international documentary films and animation festival in Leipzig there are three documentaries and one 4-minutes animation.

The opening film of this year Docudays UA «Euromaidan. Rough cut» starts on a tour to regions of Ukraine and abroad. Film screening will take place within Docudays UA Travelling Festival which traditionally demonstrates best films of the festival starting from October till the end of December.

The ninth Rome Film festival is going on in Italy at these days. Besides competition and non-competition program there is a market project NEW CINEMA NETWORK, in which participates Ukrainian script “Volcano”.

On 23 October 2014 in a Czech town of Jihlava will open the 18th International Documentary Film Festival. The Rough Cut. Euromaidan - opening film of this year at Docudays UA is in the competition program.

In Romania came to an end Astra Film Festival. Ukrainian films received two awards there and Docudays UA program coordinator, Darya Bassel, who worked as a jury, - metaphysical experience from watching the festival program.

Georgians like to say, "Together with the Ukrainians, we are 52 million!" and use every chance to prove their friendship. The 2nd International Tbilisi Documentary Film Festival CineDoc will present a special program "Ukrainian Voices".

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation together with Docudays UA invites to visit the screening of Art War (dir. Marco Wilms, Germany, 2014, 93’) on October 3rd.

Documentary Film Festival DokumentART that started today in the Neubrandenburg, Germany, will hold a round table on the issues of film funding in Ukraine and Russia. Docudays UA team members will be the speakers from Ukraine.

Festival dei Popoli, the International Documentary Film Festival based in Florence, is calling for submissions until the 30th of September.

Doc at Work is a laboratory of ideas open to anyone who wants to learn all about documentaries. The second edition of Doc at Work will be held during the 55th edition of Festival dei Popoli (November 28th - December 5th).
