46th Kyiv International Molodist Film festival  is held from 22 to 30 October 2016. 46th Festival motto is  ‘Films without limits’

Festival is supported by Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, State agency of Ukraine for movie and KSCA Chief Administration for Culture. 
According to first deputy of KCSA Culture department Sergiy Anzhiyak, Molodist, as international festival is expected to be performed at a very high level just as in previous years.
«It is the first time we have festival town on Sofiyska square as Molodist festival location. Entrance for everyone is free. Here visitors will discover presentations of shorts from Ukrainian directors, announces of festival events, decorated photo zones and other activities», - he explained.

Molodist KIFF is the only film festival in Ukraine, accredited by International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) which is in charge of regulating and certificating film festivals worldwide.

Festival opening – 22 October
Festival closing – 30 October

Opening and closing ceremonies will take place in the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater. The ceremonies will be retranslated live in the Ukraina cinema.
Festival presents new visual identity and poster of 46th Molodist. Its central symbol is ‘the face of Kyiv’ discovered by architect Georgiy Kurovskyi.

KIFF MOLODIST PROGRAM

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

•    STUDENT FILMS (features, documentaries, animations). Time limit up to 45 minutes..
•    SHORT FILMS produced after film school (features, documentaries, animations). Time limit up to 45 minutes..
•    FULL-LENGTH FILMS (with timing more than 60 minutes).

NATIONAL COMPETITION

•    UKRAINIAN SHORT FILMS (features, documentaries, animations).
The program with its own jury and contest prize. Features, documentaries and animations shorts produced in Ukraine within the last year. 

OTHER COMPETITIONS

•    MOLODIST FOR KIDS
Section of films contested for children. The jury members to decide the winner are children as well. The program is intended for kids aged 10-14.

•    SUNNY BUNNY
Established in 2001, it’s the world’s second (after Berlinale’s Teddy Award) LGBT-program on international film festivals. The program has its own international jury to decide the winner.

NON-COMPETITION PROGRAM

•    UKRAINIAN PREMIERES 
Exclusive screenings of Ukrainian features and documentaries. 
•    GERMAN WAVE 
This program focuses on key cinematic events from German speaking countries for the last year.  

•    FRENCH CONNECTION 
The most relevant and penetrating movies from French speaking world. 

•    SCANDINAVIAN PANORAMA
Unique quality and genre variety of represented films define Scandinavian region as the cinematic trendsetter of modern Europe. This selection is a perfect space to discover newest trends and evolution processes in modern cinematography.

•    FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS
Greatest cinematic events of the last year with the shortest delay in Kyiv at Molodist film festival. Traditional festival program that keeps attracting audience for more than 10 years. Films from official selections and prize holders from main film festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, Karlovy Vary etc. 

•    RETROSPECTIVE PROGRAM CENTURY
The program is dedicated to 100th birthday of significant and world acknowledged cinema players. It presents world cinema classics featuring celebrities, icons and legends of the movie world: Kirk Douglas, Olivia de Havilland, Gregory Peck, Masaki Kobayashi, Dino Risi, Bernard Blier and Krystyna Feldman.

•    LITHUANIAN FOCUS
The newest and most interesting films of recent years from Lithuania. Lithuanian festival program focuses on its special section, “In Memoriam” which is dedicated to director and scriptwriter Vytautas Žalakevičius. The program was prepared together with the Lithuanian Film Center.
•    HUNGARIAN PROGRAM
The program is dedicated to 60th anniversary of revolution in Hungary and represents selection of best features from every decade, counting from 1956 and till present day. 
•    SHAKESPEARE LIVES IN FILM
Shakespeare’s works have always been an inspiration source for film adaptations. In regard of 400th anniversary of the famous playwright together with the British council we prepared selection of film classics after his works. 
•    HORROR MOVIES PROGRAM 
New program of Molodist festival dedicated to high-quality horror movies that stand a good chance to become world cinema classics.
•    SPECIAL EVENTS
Retrospective Illienko’80

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “KYIV TALENT WORKSHOP» 

Within Molodist film festival you have an opportunity to take part in a chain of workshops from experienced filmmakers from Ukraine and abroad.

Location: Dim Mayster Klas, Education and Culture (Bohdana Khmelnytskoho str., 57b).

PROFESSIONAL SECTION “BOAT MEETING”

The Boat Meeting is a professional section of Molodist that brings together international film producers to choose the winner from the film projects presented on pitching. The Boat Meeting participants will have an opportunity to collaborate with other professionals and guests and to make contacts regarding potential co-production.

The Boat Meeting program brings together projects from all over the world. The projects will be presented to a professional audience which consists of experienced producers, buyers, and financiers. Producers of the projects selected by our committee are invited to attend the event and to participate in pitching. The language of the Boat Meeting is English.
