On February 6-10, 2017, Reykjavik, Iceland, hosted the 24th session of the Meeting of International Search Authorities (ISA) and International Preliminary Examination Authorities (IPEA) (International Authorities) Quality Subgroup under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT/MIA), in which Maria Vasylenko, Head of the IP Legal Method Department, and Yulia Kolotilova, Head of the Division for Quality Control and Improvement of Examination for Inventions, Utility Models and Integral Circuits Topographies took part.

In January, 2017 the active work was continued for realization of tasks aimed at implementation of the state policy in the field of use of rights to industrial property objects (IPO) protected on the territory of Ukraine. The data about 194 transfers of rights to IPOs, namely, 178 - about transfers of property rights to IPOs, 14 - about granting of licensies to use IPOs, 2 - about "open" licenses has been entered to the corresponding state registers.

In view of the WIPO circular C. PCT 1500 of February 2, 2017 for your attention is the address of the WIPO Director General Francis Gurry marking an important milestone in the history of the international patent protection system – the PCT System.

Total amount of registered documents (since 1992) of title made up 491 100 as of 01.02.2017: 118 359 patents for inventions; 113 526 patents for utility models; 33 809 patents for industrial designs; 222 253 certificates for trademarks and service marks, including divisional applications.

In January, 2017 State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine received 309 applications for inventions, 580 applications for utility models, 1 516 applications for trademarks and service marks under national procedure, 430 under the Madrid Agreement. Total amount of the registered documents in January, 2017 made up 2 071 documents of title.

The total PPDC on optical media as of January 31, 2017 contains more than 33 100 discs.

Total amount of registered documents (since 1992) of title made up 489 029 as of 01.01.2017.

In December, 2016 State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine received 424 applications for inventions, 1086 applications for utility models, 2869 applications for trademarks and service marks under national procedure, 786 under the Madrid Agreement. Total amount of the registered documents in December, 2016 made up 2570 documents of title.

In December, 2016 the active work was continued for realization of tasks aimed at implementation of the state policy in the field of use of rights to industrial property objects (IPO) protected on the territory of Ukraine. During the said period the State Intellectual Property Service received 253 sets of documents for entering in the appropriate state registers of data about transfer of property rights to IPOs and granting of licenses to their use.

The total PPDC on optical media as of December 30, 2016 contains about 33080 discs.
