American / National SKILL
Ken Webster - DB - Rebels

Ole Miss junior CB Ken Webster was carted off the field after suffering a leg injury in Monday's game against FSU.

Webster was defending on an under-thrown Deondre Francois pass deep down the field on the Rebs' first defensive possession of the game and came down awkwardly on his leg. The 5-foot-11, 189-pounder remained down on the field for several minutes before being carted off the field in tears -- while also barking at his defensive teammates like a champ. Webster was a 13-game starter for the Rebels last season. While the injury certainly looked severe on the field, further details as to the extent of the blow should emerge over the coming days.

Dre Massey - WR - Gators

Florida junior WR Dre Massey will miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury.

HC Jim McElwain announced Monday that Massey, who was injured on the opening kickoff of Florida's 24-7 victory over UMass on Saturday, will undergo season-ending surgery. The Gators had been counting on the JUCO transfer to bolster the receiving corps.

Greg Ward Jr. - QB - Cougars

An MRI on Houston senior QB Greg Ward Jr.'s throwing shoulder revealed "no structural damage," according to HC Tom Herman.

Ward missed Sunday's practice but "felt a lot better" on Monday, per Herman, and is expected to return to practice no later than Wednesday. Ward threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday to help No. 15 Houston upend No. 3 Oklahoma 33-23 at NRG Stadium. He's now 20-2 as a starting quarterback. Houston gets Lamar at home on Saturday.

Josh Boutte - G - Tigers

LSU senior G Josh Boutte has been suspended for next weekend's showdown with Jacksonville State due to an illegal hit in Saturday's loss to Wisconsin.

Perhaps just taking out some frustration for what was an embarrassing nationally-televised opening loss to an unranked opponent, Boutte upended D'Cota Dixon after Dixon picked off Brandon Harris late in the fourth quarter. He had already given himself up before Boutte hit him. HC Les Miles said that the 6-foot-5, 342-pounder had thought the play was still live. Boutte later called Dixon to apologize.

Ra’Shaad Samples - WR - Cougars

Houston redshirt sophomore WR Ra'Shaad Samples (concussion) remains day-to-day.

Samples suffered the concussion midway through August camp. The subsequent MRI came back clear, but he sat out Saturday's marquee upset over Oklahoma nonetheless. Steven Dunbar led the Cougars with seven catches for 125 yards in the victory. Once the 5-foot-11, 178-pound Samples is healthy enough to play, he could carve out a role as a slot option for Greg Ward Jr.

Sony Michel - RB - Bulldogs

Georgia junior RB Sony Michel (arm) has yet to be medically cleared for Saturday's showdown with Nicholls.

Michel dressed before Saturday's win over North Carolina, but he did not see the field. He continues to recover from a fractured left forearm suffered in an ATV incident over the Fourth of July weekend. With Nick Chubb looking like Nick Chubb against the Tar Heels and a cupcake opponent in Nicholls showing next on the schedule, HC Kirby Smart could easily just allow Michel one more week of recovery before trotting out the 5-foot-11, 208-pounder against Missouri on September 17. His status for Saturday's contest against Nicholls should become more clear over the course of the practice week.
