Katt Williams arrested on suspicion of battery after dispute at Studio City hotel

Comedian Micah “Katt” Williams was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of battery on a woman at a Studio City hotel, police said.

Officers were called to the Sportsmen’s Lodge at Ventura Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue about 11 a.m. after a female employee reported being in an altercation with Williams, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Gary Chilingarian said.

Santa Clarita area fire grows to more than 22,000 acres; 14 Freeway closed in both directions

The brush fire raging in the rugged mountains in the Santa Clarita Valley has burned more than 22,000 acres, threatening hundreds of homes as firefighters battled Sunday to keep the fire from spreading.

The Sand fire roared primarily through uninhabited areas near the 14 Freeway much of Saturday, fueled by high winds and hillsides carpeted with tinderlike chaparral.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the area burned by the Sand fire in Santa Clarita Saturday night.

The man’s body was found in the 26700 block of Iron Canyon Road around 7:20 p.m., sheriff’s official said.
