Catchings joined Tina Thompson as the only players in WNBA history to reach the 7,000-point plateau. Catchings had a season-high 16 points to push her total to 7,005. Thompson had 7,488.

Layshia Clarendon scored 17 points, Tiffany Hayes added 14 points and six assists, and Sancho Lyttle had 12 points for the Dream. They have won four in a row.

Catchings’ layup tied it, for the first time since 2-2, with 7:09 remaining, but Lyttle and McCoughtry combined to score 15 points during a 20-9 run as Atlanta (5-1) pulled away down the stretch.

Erica Wheeler had career highs of 18 points and seven assists for the Fever (2-3).

The Dream, No. 6 in The Associated Press WNBA Power Poll, led by as many as 18 points and trailed only once, 55-54, on a bullet pass from Wheeler to Natalie Achonwa. Atlanta regained the lead on the ensuing possession and never trailed again.

Catchings knotted the score at 63 with a layup at the 7:10 mark of the fourth quarter, but the fifth-ranked Fever never got closer as the Dream stretched its lead to double digits in the final minute.
