The hydraulic press takes on a diamond

The never-ending treasure trove that is the Hydraulic Press Channel is back at it again, this time taking on a 1.2 carat diamond.

Our intrepid host shows us the diamond, sent over by Brilliant Earth, along with all the documentation to prove that it is indeed a real and spectacular diamond. After getting the formalities out of the way it’s onto the good stuff as the diamond is placed beneath the press and the high FPS camera is activated.

As you probably figured out from the still image, the diamond shatters. It’s somewhat surprising because you spend your whole life being told how hard and strong diamonds are, and then it offers almost no resistance to the press. What good even are you, diamonds? Hmmmm?

At least everyone had a great time watching the thing get pulverized in slow motion. Also, the dude is gonna take the bigger chunks and try to burn them on his other YouTube channel, so you can enjoy that too, whenever that goes up.
