Giants Tackle Melanoma

Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, but did you know that men are nearly twice as likely to die from melanoma as women? One of melanoma’s biggest risk factors can be overexposure to UV rays, something our players and coaches can’t always avoid during training and practice. But melanoma is almost always curable if caught early and treated properly.

So to help protect our players and coaches, we’ve added annual skin cancer screenings to the team’s yearly physical regimen. But we want to make sure we’re not the only ones playing it safe. As part of our partnership with Melanoma Exposed™, over 600 New York Giants fans received free skin cancer screenings at MetLife Stadium last year. And we’re bringing these free screenings back on Sunday, June 23 at the New York Giants Run of Champions 5K Presented by Walgreens and Duane Reade at MetLife Stadium, and again on Sunday, August 18 before the pre-season game against Indianapolis.

The NY tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) continues to be at the top for new cases of melanoma skin cancers year after year. So Giants fans, get screened! It doesn’t take much time and it could even save your life. Learn more about melanoma and other upcoming screening events at
www.MelanomaExposed.com.

Check out this video from the players on why our team got screened and why you should too.
