"Russia and the Crimea. 1,000 years together"
On the May, 30 the Tauride National University held a conference "Russia and the Crimea. 1,000 years together" dedicated to Academician BD Grekova. A large delegation from Russian Institute Strategic Studies, headed by director Leonid Petrovich Resetnikow, well-known scientists from Moscow, Sevastopol and Simferopol arrived to take part in this conference. Their reports were devoted to extensive political, economic, cultural and religious relations of Russia and the Crimea in different periods of national history.

Students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, headed by a senior lecturer Shvchenko N.V., also took part in greeting the veterans and flower-laying ceremony at the monument to killed during the war.

Botanical garden of TNU.
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Simferopol from Nazi invaders, the students of the TNU Historical Department planted Paulownia tomentosa in the TNU's Botanical Garden. The plant will bloom in May, delighting the people of Simferopol during the annual Victory Day celebrations.

Students of Tauride National University of Faculty of Foreign Languages led by senior lecturer Shevchenko N.V also laid flowers at the monument to the defenders and liberators of the Crimea.

On March 20, 2014 was held the meeting of the Crimean department of the Ukrainian geographical society. Igor Vasilyevich Pokhvalin, well-known traveler, the only one dweller of the Crimea who conquered 7 highest peaks of parts of the world, took a floor at this meeting.
