4th International Workshop on Information technologies in economic research (ITER 2015)

Description of the Theme of the Workshop ITER

Expanding of IT has very big influence on business process, e-commerce, economic education, and research with using of modeling, processing and presentation of economical data. Implementation of IT in economic research is a bridge between researchers and practitioners worldwide working in such diverse areas as IT and economics. Workshop is devoted to two main themes: 1) Application of IT in business, economics and research; 2) Economics of research and developments in IT industries.
Goals of workshop are 1) to help economists to use IT in economic research, simulation and forecasting; 2) to enhance usage of IT for coordination and communications problems in market economy.

A description of the relation between the theme of the workshop and of ICTERI 2015

The growth of IT development is so high that economists often do not imagine the full extent of all the opportunities offered by the use of new information technologies. At that, even the most advanced and useful information technology does not compatible with the market forces and the laws of economics. This topic falls in the general scope of ICTERI 2015, such ac Academia/Industry ICT Cooperation:

  • Management of Joint Academic-Industrial Research and Development
  • Infrastructures, Tools and Framework Conditions for Cooperation and Knowledge Transfer
  • Experiences in Using Advanced ICT and Knowledge Technologies

An estimation of potential interest to the workshop theme and the number of submissions

We are expected potential interest to the workshop themes from following audience:

  • Academics in economics;
  • Academics in computer science;
  • Post-graduate students in economics and IT;
  • Practitioners in IT and business;
  • Policymakers of public and private sectors;
  • Other people who are interested in implementation of IT in economics.

A list of topics of interest

ITER 2015 invites papers on, but not strictly limited to, the following topics:

  • Business Process Management: business process implementation for firms, suppliers, customers; information systems in small and medium business, IT-innovations in management process, R&D races, business intelligence approach, peculiarity of management in virtual organization, e-commerce approach, cloud technology in business, e-governance: practice and applications.
  • Economics of Networks: business economics that benefit from the network effect in auctions; externalities for IT industry, e-commerce; costs and benefits, reputation, trust and reciprocity in social networks.
  • Computational Economics: simulation of economic process on micro- and macro economical levels for development of firms’ or industry strategies or state policy, quantitative methods and IT in economics, forecasting and modeling of economic growth.
  • Experimental and Behavioral Economics: game theory approach, incentive compatible mechanism design, economic prediction testing by experiments, principal-agent model, market experiments, behavioral finance and investment, investor behavior, behavioral explanation for market anomalies, behavioral corporate finance and management decision-making.
  • IT Education for Economists: business informatics competences, IT-professional training for economic staff, knowledge management, mobile technologies in economical education, e-learning for economists, business games, educational experiments in economics.

Submission Types and Requirements

ITER solicits regular and short research papers, surveys, industry reports and case studies. Evaluation criteria are equivalent to the ones of the main ICTERI Conference. Please refer to

Publication

- The papers accepted by the ITER 2015 Program Committee and written in English will be published in the ICTERI 2015 Proceedings Volume (at CEUR-WS). This publication qualifies as an international publication with the German ISBN. This proceedings volume will be published electronically and indexed by Google Scholar, DBLP and Scopus (http://ceur-ws.org)

The papers accepted for WS ITER 2015 may be invited for publication in the Special Issue of the Journal of Information Technologies in Education. Submissions should be made electronically in pdf or doc/docx format. The authors should use the ITER electronic submission system at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iter2015 and submit their papers to the ITER 2015. Those authors who do not have their personal account at EasyChair have to create it using Easychair before submitting their paper. Proposed papers will be selected by the members of Program Committee of ITER Workshop

The best ITER 2015 papers after their presentation and discussion at the workshop may be invited to be published in their refined and extended versions in the Post-proceedings of ICTERI 2015 to be published in the Springer Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS, http://www.springer.com/series/7899). Only the papers written in English will be considered as the candidates for the post-proceedings. Refined and extended versions of the papers will undergo a review by the members of the ICTERI program committee. The ICTERI Steering Committee will decide upon the acceptance forthis CCIS volume.
