The Bills look to get back in the win column Sunday when they host the Vikings.

Offensively, the Bills will go against Minnesota's 20th ranked defense, which is allowing nearly 24 points a game. The Vikings rank sixth in the NFL against the pass.

On the flip side, the Vikes surrender over 118 yards on the ground a game. Still, the Bills know they'll need a better effort than last week to be effective.

"Good defense, fast linebackers, fast secondary; attacking style defense," quarterback Kyle Orton said. "Obviously third down anytime you play Coach Zimmer, third down is going to be an issue with their blitz package. We’re going to have to do a good job on early downs."

"They're going to look at what teams have done to slow down the running game," running back C.J. Spiller said. "They're going to fit the gaps. They're going to fit the holes. They're going to put extra guys down there. It's going to be our duty to make that extra guy miss. We're going to have to take what they give us. It's a group that's going to come in here fired up. They're coming off a loss. We're coming off a loss. So we have to be ready to match their intensity."

Bills Running Game Looking for Boost

ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK - After finishing second in the NFL last season in rushing, the Bills backfield struggling to produce the same way in 2014.

The most recent display of problems running the ball was against New England, who held the Bills to 68 yards on 23 carries. The week prior, the Detroit defense halted the ground game to just 49 yards rushing.

They currently rank 23rd in the league in yards per rushing attempt.

So the Bills see change is quite apparently needed.

"We can't have penalties that's going to hurt ourselves," Bills running back Fred Jackson said. "We can't fumble the ball and throw interceptions and things like that as well. It's on us as an offense collectively to go in and look at ourselves and be harsh critics and know what we've got to come out here and get better at doing."

"We’ve got to go back and get this thing going again because you put so much on emphasis on the other stuff, you improve and then, all of the sudden, you take something that was you’re strength, that I believed was our strength, and it goes down," head coach Doug Marrone said. "That’s what you can’t have. That’s what happens when you become inconsistent."

C.J. Spiller was hoped to bring a spark to the running game that he did two years ago, but that has not come about. While he leads the team in rushing, Spiller has not rushed for more than 70 yards in a game this entire season. Marrone feels there are more than one party to blame for Spiller's tough beginning.

"I’m not trying to deflect criticism," Marrone said. "Are there things that C.J. can do better?  Yes, as well as everyone else. We go in trying to get him the ball on the perimeter at times. Sometimes teams will let you do that. Everyone is aware, when he’s on the field, of what’s going on trying to get him in space with the ball. It starts with us. I wouldn’t sit here and say, ‘It’s all on him.’ We’ve got to do a better job, as coaches, of finding a way to get him the ball in space."

The Bills host the Vikings Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is set for 1:05 pm.

Patriots Spoil Bills Debut Under the Pegulas

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes and posted his 60th career 300-yard game to lead the New England Patriots to a 37-22 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Brandon LaFell had two touchdown catches, including a 56-yarder, and the Patriots' defense forced three turnovers that resulted in 13 points in the second quarter. Brady finished 26 of 36 for 352 yards to spoil the Bills' first game under new owners Terry and Kim Pegula, who completed their purchase of the franchise this week.

Brady is now 23-2 against AFC East rival Buffalo with the Patriots (4-2).

Kyle Orton went 24 of 38 for 299 yards with two touchdowns, an interception and a lost fumble in his second start for Buffalo since replacing EJ Manuel.

The Bills (3-3) have lost three of four.

WATCH: We've posted Terry Pegula's entire 10-plus minute speech in the above video box.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Terry and Kim Pegula were officially introduced Friday afternoon at One Bills Drive as owners of the NFL's Buffalo Bills.

"My name is Terry Pegula, and the Pegulas just bought a football team. Actually, that's not quite correct."

Choking back tears, a beaming Terry Pegula said, "We all just bought a team. Our team. The Buffalo Bills."

The Pegulas are the second owners of the Bills, as franchise patriarch Ralph Wilson Jr. died in March.

Pegula ended his speech by saying what all Bills fans want to hear - he's in it to win the big one.

"The primary goal of our ownership will be to win the Super Bowl and bring championships to the City of Buffalo and myself and my family will dedicate ourselves to that," Pegula said, "and yes I said my family, because we want to bring a Super Bowl to the Niagara region, courtesy of your, our, my Buffalo Bills."

NFL owners unanimously approved the Pegulas as new owners Wednesday in New York City. The winning bid was $1.4 billion, or as Terry put it earlier in the week, "a hell of a deal - I got the team."

In a letter to fans, Ralph Wilson's widow, Mary Wilson, said, "We know the future is bright in Buffalo, and the Bills are in great hands." Read the letter here.

Sunday's game against the hated New England Patriots is sold out, and both teams are 3-2 and tied atop the AFC East. The Bills organization has asked fans to pack up their tailgates a little early and be in their seats by 12:40 p.m.
