Homicides and Violent Crime in Syracuse
Search for and map all homicides, shootings and felony assault incidents in the city of Syracuse. You can search by type of crime (assaults, shootings, stabbings, homicides, etc.), by street and by date range. The database includes incidents from January 2007 to Oct. 31, 2011.
Bridge Condition Ratings in New York state
At least once every two years, the New York State Department of Transportation inspects its highway bridges and rates them 1 to 7, with a rating of 5 or greater considered good condition. Any bridge with a rating less than 5 is considered deficient. "Deficient" does not mean the bridge is unsafe, according to the DOT. It indicates the bridge has deterioration requiring corrective maintenance or rehabilitation to restore it to full functionality. This database shows the location of every bridge the DOT inspected in New York state, who owns the bridge, the year the bridge was built or replaced, and the rating DOT assigned. Bridges with a rating less than 5 are highlighted with a red X.
Property Tax Rates
Find and compare property tax rates for every school district, county, village, city and town in New York state. The data is from the 2009-10 school year -- the most recent year available. The rates for fire and other special districts are estimates from the Office of the New York State Comptroller.
