Professional Activities

Denys specializes in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, white collar crime, GR, accompanying the political and electoral process. Mr. Bugay has considerable experience in handling projects in oil, gas, tobacco industries, banking and media spheres.

Based on the results of his professional activities Denys Bugay is among the list of the most recommended Ukrainian lawyers in the field of criminal law according to the Best Lawyers International research. Also Denys consistently ranks in the top 10 leading Ukrainian specialists on criminal and media law, and in the top 20 leading specialists in the area of corporate law in 2013 according to the research“50 leading law firms in Ukraine" conducted by the prestigious publishing house Yuridicheskaya praktika and business journal Kommersant-Ukraine.

In November 2013 was elected as Member of the Supervisory Board of UMH Group. According to the "RBC.Ratings" UMH group is in the top 15 largest media companies in the territory of the former Soviet Union. Activities in Ukrainian Bar Association

In May 2013 Denys Bugay was elected as President of the Ukrainian Bar Association. As the newly elected President Denys will continue engaging in the regional development of the Association, building effective relationships with government authorities, lobbying the professional interests, as well as active participation in the system of attorneys’ self-government.

Over the past 7 years Mr. Bugay has been working in the Electoral Commission of Ukrainian Bar Association, was a member of the Council branch in Kyiv, for two consecutive terms was the Board member of the Association.

As the Board Member Denys Bugay was engaged in issues of regional policy and the Students League of the Ukrainian Bar Association. Denys organized the regional legal forums that became the foundation of forming a network of main regional offices (Lvov, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa).

During the last 3 years as a General Partner, Denys has been providing financial support to Students League.

Law firm “Vashchenko, Bugay and Partners” is the general partner of the Ukrainian Bar Association.

In 2010, Denys founded the nominal scholarship competition of scientific and journalistic works on the governmental administration for student-lawyers with a view of a professional development and encouragement to undertake research in various areas of law. Each year the creators of  best works receive a scholarship of Denys Bugay.
