One of the brightest and most favorite festival events is film screening at the legendary Potemkin stairs accompanied by the symphony orchestra. In 2014 viewers will watch the film “Blackmail’’ by the five-time Oscar nominee and the best director of all time in the genre of thriller - Alfred Hitchcock. “Blackmail’’ is a unique film. Filmed in 1929, this movie has taken a special place in director's career, becoming the first sound and the last silent movie simultaneously. Rare, silent version of the film, restored by the BFI National Archive will be shown at the festival.
5th Odessa International Film Festival presents its official image
Traditionally, Odessa has become the main character of the festival poster. Mainly, the main gate of the city - the seaport . Odessa IFF can be also called a port, only cinematic one, - believes the author of the new poster, a young Ukrainian architect Dasha Tsapenko.
