POLICY WIN: Government Approved Amendments to the Order of Issuance of Import Permits for Products of Animal Origin as Advocated by the Chamber

Chamber Food & Beverage Committee is pleased to inform you that the Government of Ukraine adopted CMU Resolution #78 which implies amendments to CMU Resolution #652 and reflects Chamber position, in particular sets requirement according to which certain import permits are issued only if respective products are imported on the territory of Ukraine for the first time and envisages unlimited validity for import permits for these products.

POLICY PROGRESS: Chamber Received Clarification on Using Signs for Goods and Services (Prefix "Bio") During the Whole Period of Their Legal Protection

Chamber Food & Beverage Committee is pleased to inform you that the Chamber received the official clarification from the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine, according to which signs for goods and services in the sphere of dairy and sour-milk products with prefix "bio" could be used by producers during the whole period of their legal protection unless they are challenged in the way prescribed by law.

Chamber Meeting with Minister Sheremeta Resulted in the Decision to Establish 4 Project Working Groups
On April 7, the Chamber gathered senior management of Member Companies for a meeting with Mr. Pavlo Sheremeta, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to discuss short-term and long-term priorities on deregulation of economy and improvement of business environment in Ukraine, as well as to identify possible ways of cooperation between the Ministry and the business to achieve the mentioned goals.
