May a husband (or a mother) be present during labor?

During physiological birth your husband and another person may be present, for example, your mother, interpreter or personal doctor. But they should prepare for the joint labor. Your near relation, who will support you during labor, must pass tests and comply with internal regulations. Among the compulsory studies are - blood test for syphilis and AIDS, nose staphylococcus analysis. These tests may be done at our clinic. Fluorography is also necessary; you can do it in a public hospital. The presence of the doctor at birth is governed by "Rules of the presence of the doctor and other medical specialists who are not employees of the clinic." As for Caesarean section - a husband may support you during the operation only with the permission of the Head Physician of the clinic.
The internal rules for visitor, present during medical procedures and medical interventions:
- The presence of visitors during medical procedures is possible only with the permission of the attending physician.
- The visitor must wear a gown, shoe covers, mask and hat.
- During medical procedures and medical interventions photos and video are prohibited, except physiological birth.
- During the procedure, visitor should not interfere with the healing process; interfere with the doctor and medical staff conversations, questions and recommendations.
- It is strictly forbidden to talk loudly and use your mobile phone without permission of a physician.
- It is strictly forbidden to touch the instruments and tools in the room.
- The visitor should keep to the place, which was proposed by doctor.
- The visitor should leave the used clothes (overshoes, gowns) in a rubbish-bin.
- If a visitor shows unethical behavior, the staff of the clinic has the right to ask him to leave the premises.
- The presence of visitors and relatives in the operating room is prohibited, except the occasions provided by the internal regulations of the clinic (presence during physiological delivery, etc.).
- Visitors should follow the recommendations of medical staff of the clinic.
Can I choose s doctor for delivery, whom I have been recommended by my friends?
Department of prenatal diagnostics
Yes, you can choose for delivery not only an obstetrician-gynecologist, but anesthesiologist, and neonatologist. Choosing a doctor is a paid service. If you purchased the Advisory birth package (obstetrician, anesthesiologist, and neonatologist), the chosen doctor must come to the clinic for delivery (Cesarean section) in spite of its schedule, weekends, holidays or at night.
What clothes do I need during my stay in the clinic? And clothes for my child?

We provide all the necessary clothing for our patients: a nightgown and slippers, a bathrobe. For a newborn baby, we also have everything necessary: diapers, napkins, bottles, nipples, pacifiers, milk formulas. But if you prefer your own clothes for yourself and child, of course, you can take them with you. Remember, baby's clothes should be laundered and ironed necessarily.
What are the rules of admission to hospital in case of labor contractions or discharge of amniotic fluid? Does the hospital give transport?

When the contractions or false labor pains start, and when amniotic fluid moves, call the clinic or directly chosen doctor and report about your arrival to the ISIDA clinic. Woman in labor may come to the hospital during labor contractions; we provide an ambulance car (Medicom or Dobrobut) for transport to the hospital for childbirth.
Program of delivery:
- Admission to the hospital of clinic for delivery.
- Hospitalization is made in the room of pathology of pregnancy (before delivery) or directly to the maternity unit. If there are medical indications, hospitalization in the room of pathology of pregnancy (single room with all facilities) will be for a term not exceeding 7 days. Longer hospital stay requires additional charges, according to the price list of the clinic. You can choose ward Standard+ during the contract, the ward Standard+ and the delivery room of family type are additionally paid.
- After hospitalization, the patient is examined by the head of the department, doctor of the maternity ward, a doctor on duty (at night and on weekends).
If necessary, consultants are enlisted.
How many days will I spend at the hospital in case of physiological labor, Cesarean section?
According to the contract, after the physiological birth, patient stays at the postpartum unit for 3-4 days and 5-6 days - in case of Cesarean section. If there are medical indications for the mother or newborn child, the patient may remain in the clinic additional time for free (as per contract).
Can my relatives or friends visit me during my stay in hospital, and what are the rules?

The internal rules for visiting inpatients:
- Entering the maternity ward, they have to wear a disposable gown and shoe covers.
- Visitors must behave silently visiting patients in wards department.
- It is forbidden to remain at night in the wards, except for the following cases: care by relatives, if the patient has congenital defects of newly acquired, or psychological disorder, if the patient stays in the ward Standard+ and in the delivery room of a family type.
- Visitors are not allowed to visit other premises of the clinic.
- Visitors are provided with food, utensils, personal hygiene items.
- In the case of the patient's stay in the ICU, relatives have no right to live in the rooms of the obstetric ward.
- Visitors should behave correctly with the medical staff the clinic.
- Patients in alcohol or drug intoxication are not allowed.
- Visiting patients in the ICU is only possible with permission of the department head or the doctor on duty and an anesthesiologist, and with the patient's permission.
- The number of visitors should not be more than two people.
- Visiting hours for compliance with the therapeutic regimen are up to 9 pm.
- Staying after 10 pm in the intensive care unit (if the visitor stays overnight in the other ward of the clinic) is strictly prohibited. Children, regardless of their age, are forbidden to stay overnight in the ward.
- It's forbidden to bring flowers with a pungent odor which may cause allergic reactions.
- Visitors, who stay overnight, are subject to the rules of the daily routine.
Will the doctor inform me about the procedures during labor and ask my consent?

The doctor must inform the patient about the state of health (as well as the health of the newborn including data and tests results, the diagnosis (in the case of illness) and prognosis, options for medical intervention, projected impacts and expected results of providing medical care. The process of labor may be changed with the advent of deviations from the physiological course of delivery.
In such cases, the patient may be given the following interventions:
- Episiotomy.
- Stitching of breaks of the birth canals.
- Cesarean section.
- Manual examination of the uterus.
- Instrumental inspection of the uterine cavity.
- Embryotomy (if the fetus is dead).
- Removal of the uterus (at the uterine bleeding, which is life threatening).
- Elective Caesarean section.
The above mentioned operations do not require additional cost and are carried out exclusively on medical indications.
What types of anesthesia are used during physiological childbirth and Cesarean section?

Our doctors use an effective method of anesthesia - epidural anesthesia. Epidural anesthesia – is a method of anesthesia for surgery and childbirth, which is carried out by injection for local anesthesia of nerve trunks, with their exit from the spinal cord.
Does the contract include giving meals in the hospital? Will it be enough for nursing mothers in the postpartum period?

We offer our patients a diet number 15 during the prenatal diet and number 5 in the postnatal period. You can choose dishes that are on the menu. The menu consists of breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and a second dinner. These diets are approved by the Director of Epidemiological Safety, Head of the power supply, Head of the Obstetrical Department and Head of the Neonatology Department.
Does the hospital register newborn children? What documents are required for registration?

We help parents to issue Certificate of Birth. For the registration procedure only the parents' passports and certain fee are required. Regardless of the place of residence and registration, the birth certificate of the child will be processed quickly and easily.
