Pastor Ralph Huska: ‘Just Don’t Revert to Violence’
The evening of December 9, when a clash between protesters and troops of the Interior Ministry was waiting to happen, Ralph Huska, a pastor of St. Catherine's German Lutheran Church on Lutheran Street located in the middle of the events, stood between the rows of troops, not letting blood to spill. He shared his impressions from this event with a RISU reporter after evening prayers in the Lutheran church.

Religious Maidan: Clergy in Defense of Peace and Justice
Protests in Kyiv go on and the clergy of different denomination are taking part in these events. They have gone beyond the walls of their churches and joined the protesters. Every day of the rally on Maidan priests serve Liturgies, hear the confessions, and just stay with people.

What the Pope Really Said
Pope Francis has done far more than the sensationalist press and uninformed public may have expected. He has not provided assurance to either “liberals” or “conservatives.” He has not given us leave to return to our comfort zone. Rather, he has challenged us to embark on an exciting and unpredictable journey to the limits of our experience. “One should not bring the frontier home,” he says, “but live on the frontier and be audacious.” For “God is always a surprise.”

“Ecumenism from the bottom up: Now Vatican II is coming into effect”
I said some time ago that in the Ukraine we are guilty of leaving ecumenism in the hands of diplomats, politicians or theologians. Now we need to preach it in the parishes and get faithful used to the idea that they must not do anything that may put their Christian brothers in a difficult situation.
