UKRZALIZNYTSIA REPAIRS OVER 670.1 KM OF TRACKS
Ukrainian railways from January 1 to May 27, 2013, modernized 129.4 km of tracks, which is 97% of the target for the first five months of 2013.
145 km (105% of the target) were overhauled, 246.3 underwent maintenance repairs (101%); and 149.4 km were upgraded (102%). In general, repaired tracks total 670.1 km. Most of tracks were modernized by Prydniprovska Railways, Odesa Railways, Pivdenna-Zakhidna Railways, and Donetsk Railways.

PIVDENNO-ZAKHIDNA RAILWAYS PUTS ON 192 PAIRS OF PASSENGER TRAINS IN NEW SCHEDULE
Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways (Kyiv) in its new train schedule (from May 26) introduced 192 pairs of passenger trains, the head of the passenger service at the railways, Oleksandr Boldov.
New schedule foresees three pairs of trains being put into service more than a year earlier than previously planned.
To support summer demand the railways put on 16 additional pairs of trains, which corresponds to the level of last year. Ten pairs have started running, and another six will be in service in June.
