  • PM Azarov approves plan to improve election law based on OSCE recommendations

    KYIV, March 7 /UKRINFORM/. Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Monday, March 4, approved a plan of priority measures to improve the election legislation, based on the recommendations of the OSCE observation mission, Acting Director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to reports from the organizers of the next round of negotiations on the Transdniestrian settlement in the 5+2 format (Moldova, Transdniestria, Russia, Ukraine, the OSCE, the EU and the U.S.), Tiraspol s representatives refused to hold a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat and Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk, a Chisinau-based UKRINFORM correspondent reported citing the press office of the Moldovan government.

  • OSCE Special Representative for Protracted Conflicts, Ambassador Andriy Deschytsia to visit Moldova

    KYIV, February 6 /UKRINFORM/. The Special Representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on protracted conflicts, Ambassador Andriy Deschytsia will visit Moldova from February 6 to 8. The Ambassador will meet with Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for Reintegration and the political representative to the negotiations in the "5+2" format Eugen Carpov, as well as with Transnistrian leader Yevgeniy Shevchuk and political representative to the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement Nina Stanski.
