Statements and declarations by the President

Dear colleagues and friends!

Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) is an independent non-governmental organization that aims to contribute to the process of building rule of law in Ukraine, development of legal profession, protection of professional interests of law practitioners and creating conditions for their loose communication. Association is one of the largest professional lawyers’ communities in Ukraine. Due to its dynamic development and continuous growth a great number of representatives of all legal professions from all over Ukraine constantly joins the Association.

Since 2002 Association is actively expanding range ofactivities as well as its challenges and set goals. Considering such dynamic development, UBA performance is steadily based on such essential principles, as transparency, democracy, political indifference, lawfulness, equal status of its members, and others.

Lately Association has become of great interest for significant number of representatives of state bodies and public organizations of lawyers. Members of leading international legal associations do not stay aside as well. Their extensive experience is used by UBA for accomplishing its operations, creation of up-to-date organization structure and operational framework. Representatives of legal profession from different parts of our country are actively demonstrating their interest in UBA activities, supporting its activities and are joining the Association.

One of the main goals determined by Ukrainian Bar Association, as a unique platform uniting professional legal advisors, determined by myself, as a newly elected President, and by its executive management, is protection and lobbying of professional interests of legal practitioners.

On the website of Association you will find information regarding guidelines, goals and tasks of UBA, as well as action plan, which includes organization of local and national conferences and seminars, various trainings, support and encouragement of students, tutorial and informational assistance, professional networking, exchange of experience, and even common leisure activities. We strongly believe that all these actions could promote consolidation of legal corporate unity, and will impact on establishment and development of civil society in Ukraine.

As UBA President I welcome representatives of legal profession from all regions of Ukraine to join Ukrainian Bar Association.Only by joining efforts of likeminded people, by following UBA guidelines and goals we can make a difference and change the future of legal profession in Ukraine.

We will appreciate any your ideas and suggestions regarding activities of Ukrainian Bar Association, we are always ready to hear the voice of every single legal practitioner.
