UKRZALIZNYTSIA SUPPORTS INITIATIVE OF MAKING ROLLING STOCK UPGRADE NATIONAL PROJECT
The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) supports a proposal of the All-Ukrainian Union of Construction Materials Producers to make the modernization and restoration of the Ukrainian railways sector a national project of the Ukrainian president.
The association proposed to launch a special account for the railways where the transport (investment) compound of the increased tariffs for cargo shipments by rail to buy new rolling stock made in Ukraine could accumulate. Ukrzaliznytsia supports the proposal, as today there is no the said compound in the tariffs, while railways is in the complicated financial and economic state today.

UKRZALIZNYTSIA EXPECTS NEW CABINET TO PASS RESOLUTION ON CREATION OF JOINT-STOCK COMPANY FOR RAILWAY TRANSPORT
The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) expects that the new cabinet will pass a resolution on the creation of a public joint-stock company Ukrainian Railways.
The law foresaw that a decision on the creation of the public joint-stock company is taken within three months of the law taking effect, but the approval of the resolution by the government has been postponed for over six months.
Specialists of Ukrzaliznytsia said that in under market economy conditions, and rising international technological competition, the organization and legal form of the administration and management models at Ukrzaliznytsia have to be changed. The organizational structure of railways transport is not in line with the requirements of European Union law.
