1894 at the age of 25 Luigi Lavazza starts his entrepreneurial "adventure" in Turin

1957 To accomodate its rapid expansion, the company purchase the plant in Corso Novara, Turin. Today the building on Corso Novara is the corporate headquarter

1895 the Lavazza company is officially established

1965 Decaffeinated coffee is launched on the market - Lavazza Dek. Lavazza's constantly growing production is concentrated in the plant located in Settimo Torinese, just a few kilometres from Turin

1897 The Lavazza grocery starts to roast coffee

1968 Lavazza introduces the exclusive vacuum-packed aluminium-foil bag

1910 The company expands and decides to focus its sales offer mainly on coffee . Luigi Lavazza creates the first coffee blends, an entirely new idea for the market

1979 The Luigi Lavazza Center for Coffee Sstudies and Research is founded. This will eventually lead to the Lavazza Training Center, the company's coffee information and training center. Today the Training Cneter is a worldwide network comprised of over 40 branches

1910 Lavazza is the top Italian coffee importer and roaster

1982 Lavazza organises its structure to expand into foreign sales in France. Subsequently its subsidaries in Germany, the USA, Austria, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal are set up

1925 Lavazza introduces the parchment package "pergamin" to preserve coffee

1994 Lavazza Turin plantearns UNI EN ISO 9003 Certificationfor an international quality system”. This result is confirmed in 1997

with ISO 9001 Certification

1927 Lavazza becomes a joint-stock company

1996 San Tommaso 10 is opened, the first Lavazza coffee house.

1933 The company goes into the hands of Luigi Lavazza's sons: Mario, Giuseppe, Pericle

1997 The new Espresso Point line designed by Pininfarina is launched

1946 The first Lavazza logo is created  Brand policy and promotional initiatives are introduced

2004  Lavazza BLUE is launched. It is the last fontier in espresso, in the vending sector 

1950 Lavazza places its first ads with the radio and newspaper "Lavazza paradiso in tazza" - heaven in a cup.

2007 Launch in Italy of the espresso system Lavazza A Modo Mio. This year Lavazza acquire 2 Indian Companies

Today LAVAZZA with over 4000 staff is present in mpore that 90 countries on 5 continents through sales subsidaries or authorised distributors. Lavazza today to bring the world the age-old and invigorating pleasure of a steaming cup of coffee
