Ukrainians will have the opportunity to vote for the best non-financial report

The Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility Development invites participants for the second Readers’ Choice Award – contest on the best company’s non-financial report. The most active reader will receive a prize from the general partner of the contest – PocketBook.

Social or non-financial reporting is the public reporting of the companies on social and environmental projects that aim to inform different stakeholders (shareholders, employees, partners, clients and society) about a company’s social responsibility.

The main aim of the Readers’ Choice Award, as initiated by the Centre for CSR Development, is to encourage the public to read non-financial reports produced by companies, raising the quality of content and form of non-financial reports. Unfortunately, only 23 enterprises out of 109 (that were evaluated within the Ukrainian Transparency and Reporting Index) use different forms of non-financial reporting, which is only 21%.

Within the auspices of the contest, readers will have the possibility not only to read and vote for the best non-financial report, but also to choose the “failed” reports that need to be improved. To vote and for the reports and make comments, you should register at the website.

This year, the reports of the following companies will take part in the contest: Kyivstar, Ernst&Young Ukraine, BDO, Foxtrot, HCM Group, Vitmark, SCM, Arcelor Mittal Kryvy Rih, Interpipe, Metinvest, Clever Group, ViDi Group, NAI Pickard, Mriya Invest.

Awards for the best non-financial report and for the best reader and commentator of the reports will be presented on October 21, 2011 during the fair of social and environmental projects – CSR Marketplace (Premier Palace Hotel, 16.00).
