Magento’s history is a history of success.

It’s the history of how intelligence, creativity and the hard work of some young guys turned a little IT company into the world’s leader in Open Source solutions for eCommerce in just a few years. The term “Magento” is now Googled more often than the word “eCommerce”.

 

In just a couple of years, Magento has become one of the most famous companies designing
and developing web stores on the osCommerce («Open Source Commerce») platform.
PHP+MySQL binding was selected as the development tool.

The story began in 2001, when a young American student was trying to make extra money on the side by creating and customizing web stores in the Internet.
In a couple of months he had founded Varien.Inc, which was renamed to Magento in 2010.

A real breakthrough occurred in 2006, when a decision was made to develop an original eCommerce platform, Magento Commerce.

Around that same time the Ukrainian office was opened, and the number of company doubled. The Ukrainian office actually became the primary “development force” where the whole development process took place from receiving project requirements to the testing and release stages.

Today the dynamics of the company’s growth are really impressive. In those 6 years the company has grown from 3 employees to over 200.
In the beginning of the year 2009, a second Ukrainian office was opened in Dnepropetrovsk. At the beginning of 2011, a new office in Donetsk was opened. Several new offices in Ukraine are in the company’s immediate plans.
The company continues to grow and develop, constantly enhancing the platform and providing service of the highest quality and complexity.
