Second fair of social and environmental projects chooses winners

The Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility Development organized the second CSR MarketPlace within “Ukraine National Initiatives to Enhance Reforms” (UNITER) Project that is implemented by Pact and financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). General partner of the event – DTEK. CSR Marketplace was supported by the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine, communication partner – ESG.

CSR MarketPlace is a unique European format, fair of social and environmental projects of the organizations, during which visitors have the possibility to communicate with companies informally, exchange contacts, find partners for their projects, etc.

Maryna Saprykina, head of the Centre for CSR Development noted: “The Centre is extremely grateful to the partners of the Fair and to the companies for taking part. We have proved that Ukraine has extraordinary companies and organizations that combine their development with the development of the country, and try to do as much as possible for their employees, customers, partners and their communities”.

This year, 28 organizations presented their projects during the CSR MarketPlace and more than 500 visitors have seen these projects. 7 additional events were conducted during the fair – two roundtables, dedicated to the partnership of companies and donors on promotion of sustainable development and evaluation of community development projects.

“Development of business is impossible without development of society. Just as development of the society is impossible without the participation of business. The CSR MarketPlace gives the possibility to organize a complete dialogue between government, society and business. Topics that were discussed during the roundtables, particularly the National CSR Conception, are very important. Today we have reached such stage of business and society’s development that there is no need to explain the meaning of CSR. Now, we should discuss the ways to implement sustainability programs. And such a situation proves the maturity of Ukrainian society”, – Victoria Grib, sustainability manager, DTEK.

A series of final discussions of National CSR Conception with the representatives of business and municipalities, universities, NGOs were conducted within the event. At the end of the fair, visitors had the possibility to see a discussion between Intel and Renault Ukraine top managers on Responsible Leadership.

Traditionally, visitors have chosen the most interesting projects that were presented at the fair. Representatives of Auchan Ukraine, British American Tobacco Ukraine and LaStrada Ukraine were invited for vote tabulation. As a result, the following companies received awards: Platinum Bank (3rd place), Astelit (life:) (2nd place), and DTEK (1st place).
