July 16, 1999 The Law of Ukraine "On Accounting and Financial Reporting" was adopted.

July 16, 2000 the UFPAA appealed to the central executive authorities with the proposition of formalizing the Day of Accountant and first time organized celebrations dedicated to this holiday almost in every territorial branch.

July 27, 2001 the winners of the final competition "The Best Accountant of 2001" were rewarded at the award ceremony dedicated to the Day of Accountant.

July 16, 2003 the UFPAA kept on celebrating the Day of Accountant. Despite the fact that this holiday hasn't been recognized yet, wide-ranging celebrations took place all over Ukraine anyway.

July 16, 2004 the Professional Holiday "The Day of Accountant" was officially recognized by the Decree of the President of Ukraine and celebrated in this status for the first time.

The Day of Accountant was officially approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine as of 18.06.2004 № 662/2004 "On the Day of Accountant". The Decree established the official date of this holiday for July 16 annually.

July 15, 2006 the UFPAA, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Chamber of Auditors of Ukraine and the Union of Auditors of Ukraine organized the celebration of the Day of Accountant in Kiev.

The letter of congratulations from the President of Ukraine V.Yushchenko was read out by the master of ceremony.
