The Chamber Disaster Relief Fund
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is proud to represent socially responsible business
The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (Chamber) is pleased to report on the organization’s engagement in response to the flooding in Western Ukraine. In August 2008 Western Ukraine was ravaged by floods which killed many and displaced even more the Chamber proactively reached out to its Members to lend a hand.
The Chamber established a Disaster Relief Fund, under the auspices of the Chamber's Board of Directors CSR Committee, and all money donated into that fund was disbursed under the guidance and recommendations of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
Thanks to the generous donations of Chamber Member Companies the fund gathered USD 36,474.67 and UAH 496,470.00 in cash that was transferred in full to the International Red Cross Society working in Ukraine.

In addition to direct monetary contributions, Chamber Members were also actively involved in providing in-kind goods and services to those who suffered. Millions of UAH worth of in-kind goods and services were donated by our Members and distributed to those in need in Western Ukraine with the assistance of the Chamber and the coordination of the International Red Cross Society.
