| About SCCI |
 | Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) was founded as a structural sub-division of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of USSR in 1968. In 1998 according to the law of Ukraine “About the chambers of commerce and industry in Ukraine” and under the initiative of representatives of Sevastopol enterprises and organizations SCCI gained a status of a regional chamber. The current membership base amounts to 160 members and represented by the leading industrial branches of Sevastopol region. The Sevastopol chamber of Commerce and Industry is one of the youngest regional Chambers among 27 regional Chambers of Ukraine.
The main development stages of SCCI activity were:
1969-1975- Crimea bureau department of goods examination
1975-1989- Sevastopol bureau of goods examination
1989-1995-Sevastopol representation of industrial and economic company “Crymvneshservis” UCCI
1995-1998- Representation of Crimean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sevastopol
1998- Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Name’s changes entailed increasing and complication of functional duties.
If the main purposes of bureau of goods examination were carrying out examinations of quality, quantity, complete of goods, raw-materials and equipment, then Sevastopol representation of industrial and economic company “Crymvneshservis” added such kind of activity as: services in the sphere of foreign economy (services of cargo declaration, foreign language translations, certificates of origin, definition the codes of Goods Nomenclature of Foreign Economical Activity ). Representation of Crimean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sevastopol provided such new services as: sea transport examination, services on draught surveyor, exhibitions organization, presentations and seminars.
From the special status getting, Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry began new development stage
- assistance of national economy developing, forming of modern, financial and trade infrastructure
- creation of favorable condition for development of entrepreneurship, scientific and technical, trade connections between Ukrainian and foreign businessmen.
Improving the services system SCCI rises the base of members, looks for new foreign business partners, arranges economic relations with new countries.
From 1998 the SCCI has its own monthly magazine “Business-Partner”, which is spread free of charge between members of SCCI, companies and others organizations of Sevastopol.
There are four branch-wise committees that are founded and work successfully at the Sevastopol CCI. These are the Committee for fish industry assistance, Committee for shipbuilding, shiprepairing and shipping and Committee for television, informatization and communications, Committee for enterpreneurship develompent.
The Diploma of SCCI, which was established by Presidium decision, is annually given to the members of SCCI for active foreign trade, assistance of economic, trade, scientific technical cooperation development with foreign companies, the creation of competitive services, developing of new foreign markets.
The Head of Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry is President Lyudmyla I. Vyshnya who is a member of the Board of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, numerous committees of the City State Administration and Sevastopol representative office of the International Black Sea Club. She is awarded with the Honorary Sign of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine – “Golden Sign of Mercury”.
Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry elaborated and applied quality system in compliance with demands of international standard ISO 9002:1994 (Certification № 02.091.026 18.06.2002, certification body – Maritime Register of Shipping) for the purpose of perfecting of activity on rendering service and improvement of the quality, profitability, competitive ability.
The following kind of services are certified: carrying out examinations of quality, quantity, complete of goods control fixing of value, valuation of realty, formalizes and confirms the certificates of origin and quality; bar coding, elaboration of tender documentation and organization of tender procedure, giving services of cargo declaration, giving consulting services in the sphere of foreign economy.
Today Sevastopol Chamber of Commerce and Industry render about 60 highly qualified services, completes 23 international cooperation agreement with partnership organization.
