A total lunar eclipse lasting over one hundred minutes could be viewed in Odessa in the night of the 15th to 16th of June. All willing to see how our planet’s shadow covers the mood should stock up some food and patience: the cosmic action with its prologue and epilogue will last for almost four hours. (read more)

  Dotted orange, green with pink, blue... Inhabitants of almost three hundred aquariums turned the hall of the Odessa University Humanitarian Building into a tropical basin for two days. The anniversary X exhibition “Killifish – 2011” featured the rare and famous among aquarium-lovers locarium catfish and killifish, including the recently discovered species. (read more)

  16 representatives of the I.I. Mechnikov ONU will start the new academic year in higher education institutions of Poland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Italy and other countries. The results of the two stages of the “Erasmus Mundus. Action 2” program, which covers students’ and young scientists’ internships in foreign educational institutions, the delegation of the Odessa University became the second largest, relinquishing only to the Lviv National University. Overall from Ukraine, 100 students will study abroad. (read more)

  The digest “Anchors of democracy: The Black Sea” is dedicated to the problems and opportunities of political and economic processes in the countries of the Black Sea region. This compilation of scientific works was published by the Institute for Parliamentarism and Democracy of Vienna. Among the many works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists an article by the Ph.D. in International Relations, lecturer of the I.I. Mechnikov ONU political sciences researcher Sergei Glebov.
