Performance of Rajasthani troupe
An ICCR sponsored 10-member Rajasthani music/dance group led by Anwar Khan Langa visited Kyiv to perform in Kyiv from 19-23 March, 2011 on the occasion of Holi. The group gave performances in Kyiv at the «House of Teachers» – a public performance before an audience of about 500 persons on March 20; at India House before a select audience of 18 people on March 21; at the Linguistics University, Kyiv before an audience of about 200 students and faculty on the morning of March 22. Local hospitality to the group was provided by the India Club.

The 62nd Republic Day of India was celebrated in Kyiv on 26 January 2011. The National Flag was hoisted at a ceremony at the Embassy Residence in the morning and the ambassador read the President's message to the nation.
A reception was hosted by the ambassador, with the support of the Indian community, at the House of Receptions in the evening. The event was attended by deputy ministers, government officials, members of the diplomatic community, members of the local Indian community, friends of India in Ukraine, Indologists, artists, University teachers and students as well as Mission officials and their families.

Music concert
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and International day of Non-Violence, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Ukraine branch in cooperation with the Embassy of India, Kyiv, Indian theatre Nakshatra and UFINDARTS and with the support of ULTRATEST Pvt. Ltd and STEEL MONT Trading Ltd. organized a music concert in the National Operetta Theatre, Kyiv on 02 October 2010.

The evening began with the opening remarks of Ambassador H.E. Mr. Jyoti Swarup Pande followed by the President of India club Mr. Sanjeev Bhagat. Padma Bhushan Pt. Debabrata Chaudhuri accompanied by Shri Prateek Chaudhuri on Sitar and Ustad Akram Khan on Tabla, and Kenneth Zuckerman on Sarod gave performances during the concert.

The members of local Indian community together with academics, indologists, journalists, University teachers and students, and other dignitaries attended the event to pay homage to the father of the Indian nation and also to celebrate the idea of the inception of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan to be established in the nearest future in Kyiv.

The 64th Independence Day of India
On the occasion of the 64th Independence Day of India, in addition to the Flag hoisting ceremony held at the Embassy Residence in the morning of 15 August, a Mega concert 'Jai Ho India' was organized in a very festive setting in the heart of Kyiv - the famous Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) - in the evening. The concert was organized by 'India Club'.

Many leading Ukrainian groups, both pop and classical, performing Indian dances and music and along with Russian/Ukrainian popular pieces, entertained the huge crowd present at this public venue. The evening culminated with the UK based Apache Indian thrilling the audience with many of their well known numbers.

The events were attended by deputy ministers, government officials, members of the diplomatic community, members of the local Indian community, friends of India in Ukraine, Indologists, artists, University teachers and students as well as Mission officials and their families.

Concert performance of Amjad Ali Khan
The Embassy of India, Kyiv in cooperation with Kyiv-based cultural organizations, Nakshatra and UFindarts, and with the support of local sponsors, organized a music concert by a five-member Sarod group led by Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan at the prestigious National Opera House on 8 December 2009. The evening began with Ambassador Debabrata Saha's opening remarks followed by a brief introduction of the artists, and explanation of Raga and Tala. The artists performed four Ragas and the programme lasted for an hour and a half.

The 63rd anniversary of India's independence was celebrated in Kyiv on 15 August 2009 with a flag hoisting ceremony at the Embassy Residence which was attended by members of the local Indian community, friends of India in Ukraine – Indologists, artists, University teachers and students – from Kyiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia as well as Mission officials and their families. Ambassador Debabrata Saha hoisted the National Flag and read out the President's message to the nation.

India and Ukraine sign contract in aviation sector
Prime Minister Ms. Yulia Tymoshenko and Ambassador of India to Ukraine, Mr. Debabrata Saha, took part in a celebration in the Prime Minister's Office on 23 June 2009 to mark the signing of a contract for modernizing and overhauling of the Indian Air Force's AN-32 military transport aircrafts.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, Mr. Volodymyr Novitskiy, the General Designer of Antonov, Dr. Dmytro S. Kiva, the Director General of UkrSpetsExport, Mr. Sergiy V. Bondarchuk, the Director of SpetsTechnoExport, Mr. Igor Gladush, the General Director of Motorsich, Mr. Vyacheslav A. Boguslayev, and Cdr. S. Sanyal, Acting Defence Attache of the Embassy. The contract for modernization and overhaul of 105 AN-32 IAF aircrafts by Ukraine was signed between the Ministry of Defence of India and SpetsTechnoExport of Ukraine on 15 June 2009.

Music Concert
The Embassy of India and the Kyiv-based cultural organization Nakshatra organized a music concert on 14 April at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Kyiv. The event gave Ukrainian music lovers an opportunity to enjoy the mastery of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, the renowned exponent of the bansuri, and Pt. Vijay Ghate, the tabla wizard. Pt. Chaurasia’s disciple, French flutist Jean Christoph, and Mr. Kabanov, an Ukrainian Tanpura player, were the accompanying performers. Ambassador Mr. Debabrata Saha said in his opening remarks that the concert was, above all, a celebration of Indo-Ukrainian friendship. He mentioned that Pt. Chaurasia had played a seminal part in according the Bansuri a special place in Indian Classical music, alongside the sitar, sarod, and the sarangi. Pt. Chaurasia’s immense skill with the flute has attracted audiences to the Bansuri – the instrument of Lord Krishna – all over the world.

Amrita Revisited Painting Exhibition
The Mission organized a painting exhibition 'Amrita Revisited' in Kyiv from 27 February to 29 March, 2009. The exhibition was organized jointly with East European Development Institute, a local NGO at The Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Arts, Kyiv. Totally 49 paintings of eminent Indian women artists inspired by the work of Amrita Shergil were displayed in the exhibition. Formal inauguration of the exhibition by Ambassador Mr. Debabrata Saha was held on 6 March which coincided with the celebration of International Women's Day. About 250 persons including leading political figures, Ambassadors, academics, indologists, journalists, University teachers, students and members of local Indian community participated in the event. The event was preceded by a press briefing attended by more than 20 journalists. The Ambassador spoke of the importance and relevance of holding the exhibition in Ukraine on International Women's Day. The exhibition was a great success with more than 600 visitors during a period of 30 days.

President Viktor Yushchenko received Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Kyiv on February 12, 2007. In his address to the distinguished gathering which included the Prime Minister and members of his Cabinet, the President specifically referred to new perspectives being developed in Ukraine's relations with such countries as the People's Republic of China and India.
