The history of the “Concrete by Kovalska” is an integral part of the history of modern-day city planning. The history dates back to the post-war times of urban renewal undertaken in the framework of housing and civil construction programs; from that time on and for over fifty years now the “Kovalska” has been something more than just a trademark of best-quality Ukrainian concrete, also including a number of generations of specialists and hundreds of projects put in practice. Starting from the moment of establishment in 1956 to the present day the Company has been engaged in real work all the while perfecting and expanding its production base. Initially the Company came into existence as the Reinforced-Concrete Structures Plant No. 1, followed by later transformation into a workshop under the StroyIndustriya Industrial Complex (remaining in this state for 26 years), and finally having been restructured into the ZhBK-3 Plant (Reinforced-Concrete Structures) of the Building Construction Plant No. 1. In 1996 the named plant was used as the basis to establish the OJSC «S. Kovalska Reinforced-Concrete Structures Plant» thus named in honor of Svitlana Kovalska, a distinguished leader of the Company, who has undergone all stages of career development within several decades of work at the Company – starting from a common workshop worker up to the director of the plant.
The year 2002 opened a new era for the company development, i.e. the development of the “Concrete by Kovalska” trademark, which further incorporated products of many plants, i.e.: «S. Kovalska Reinforced-Concrete Structures Plant»; “Beton Complex” Plant – from the second half of 2002; “Beton Service” Plant –from 2004; LLC “AvtoBudComplex-K” – from 2006; and, OJSC “BudIndustriya” (Chernigov) – from 2007.
Currently, the above present a group of powerful enterprises – one of the largest in Europe, which actually are the production center of concrete mixtures and reinforced-concrete products in Ukraine. Above 70% of residential and cultural projects in Kiev are implemented with the use of “Concrete by Kovalska” products.
