Sherborne Guest House is located in a lovely Kiev neighborhood - Pechersk, which boasts most of the city's historical and cultural spots, such as the Pecherska Lavra - which is the first Orthodox monastery of what used to be the Kyivan Rus, as well some of Kyiv's more glamorous clubs. For those who are truly into art - there are a number of first-rate museums, art centres and exhibitions in a 5-20 minute walk, including the contemporary Pinchuk Art centre (Arena City, Basseina st.) or the National Art Museum on Grushevskogo st.
The Pecherska Lavra itself is a host to dozens of museums and art-galleries and is a must visit attraction that will be an enlightenment on historical and cultural facts dating from the end of the first Millenium AD to WWII to present day. The Great Patriotic War Museum, home to the imposing Motherland monument overlooking the Dniper and Pechersk Botanical Gardens are perfect destinations to make for a fantastic day out.
Those who are obsessed with shopping will be treated to a selection of shops and department stores comparable to those you can find in London, Paris or NY. While some of the Mega stores are within 10-20 minutes drive radius, vicinity shopping scene presents Pechersk Department Store where you will be able to find a selection of fashion, electronics, perfume and cosmetics items, as well as a coffee shop and restaurant where you can stop for a break between outlets. A supermarket that stocks everything from fresh vegetables to French & Georgian wine is situated in the same building and is open 24 hours a day.
Just a two minute walk away, underneath of Slavy Square, Kvadrat shopping center is open daily. Among its 30-odd shops are several bookstores, fashion, electronic and music outlets, as well as a few gift shops and florists and a food court.

If you want to leave exploring Kiev until you're completely acclimatized - there is a rich entertainment scene within a 10 minute walk - Shooters Cosmopolitan Club, two casinos, Pioneer ice-skating ring - basically everything that is required for an active rest, virtually without leaving your apartment.
Travelers will not have to look far for everyday conveniences - there are several banks, telecom stores, pharmacies, a dental clinic and several beauty saloons - where you can exchange currency, get yourself a prepaid phone and get a relaxing Thai massage.
