President Yanukovych gives go-ahead to healthcare reform
President Viktor Yanukovych, currently on a working visit to Kirovohrad, central Ukraine, has said that Ukraine's healthcare system will be reformed through implementation of a range of pilot projects, and one of them gets underway in Kirovohrad region, he was speaking Friday at an extended meeting of a workgroup for healthcare reform with the Committee on Economic Reforms. In his opening speech, President Yanukovych said: "The time has come for us to join our efforts and work out a concept of healthcare system that we are able to implement at this stage".

Ukraine ready to liberalize all tariffs in trade with EU, demands higher quotas for product supplies to EU
During the last round of negotiations on a free trade zone between Ukraine and the European Union, which has been recently held in Kyiv, the Ukrainian side proposed a scheme of gradual liberalization of all, without exception, tariff lines in trade with the EU, head of Ukraine's negotiating group, Deputy Economy Minister Valeriy Piatnytsky said. He noted that Ukraine and the EU have long reached agreements on the liberalization of 95% of trade volumes and no less than 95% of tariff lines, "but our European colleagues have decided that we should decide on the remaining five percent. And that none of these items is excluded from liberalization".
