NOTE ABOUT BLACK SEA ASSOCIATION OF NATIONAL NEWS AGENCIES (BSANNA)



The Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA) was established in Kyiv, Ukraine on May 29 - 31, 2006. It is an international organization, which unites efforts by the national news agencies of the region for using their informational resources efficiently.

The BSANNA consists of AzerTAj (Azerbaijan), ANA (Greece), Armenpress (Armenia), Anadolu Agency (Turkey), ATA (Albania), BTA (Bulgaria), ITAR-TASS (Russia), Caucasus-Press (Georgia), Moldrpres (Moldova), AGERPRES (Romania), Tanjug (Serbia), MIA (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), HINA (Croatia), GHN (Georgia) and Ukrinform (Ukraine).

The Association is aimed, as provided by its Statute, at promoting friendship and good neighborly relations, strengthening mutual respect and trust among the agencies, freely and equally exchanging information and its spreading in the countries, which are represented by the news agencies, members in the Association, as well as objectively highlighting all spheres of their life.

The BSANNA members mean to materialize joint projects in all branches, which are important for their activities, including informational and technical cooperation, exchange of experience and technologies. The Association is open for cooperation with the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and other international organizations.

BSANNA constituent documents provide for holding conferences, exhibitions, competitions and other events for familiarizing the Association members with the state of affairs in international information exchange, information and telecommunication technologies, discussing topical matters and trends of the information market and in the world, as a whole. They are also entitled to cooperate in editorial, publishing, advertisement and other activities.

The news agencies, the BSANNA members, exchange news, photos and other materials, maintain and develop the common website of the Association.

The BSANNA supreme body is the Conference. The Association is chaired by Chairman (presently BTA Director General Maxim Minchev).
