Despite poor level of development of maritime sector in Ukraine nowadays, the enormous potential of this sphere can not be ignored. Taking into account favorable geographical position of Ukraine, large number of sea ports and special legal regime relating to ship-building and ship-repairing, maritime sphere can in the nearest future occupy a considerable place in the economy of Ukraine.
Legal regulation of maritime sphere is characterized by vast diversity of legal sources, most of which are international, which affects the necessity of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to provisions of international conventions, ratified by the majority of maritime countries of the World and respective improvement of legal basis of maritime transportation and neighboring spheres.
