Corporate Responsibility at DHL

Corporate Responsibility is a core element of our corporate strategy. Acting responsibly as a company means we treat our employees, the environment, the interests of society and the capital that has been entrusted to us in a manner that is respectful and sustainable. Only in this way can we be successful in the long term.

Our Corporate Responsibility Approach

Living Responsibility - Shaping a Sustainable Future

Under the motto 'Living Responsibility' we have developed a comprehensive strategy for fulfilling our corporate responsibility. This strategy lays out how we intend to positively shape the future.

Our commitment focuses on environmental protection, disaster management and education in the form of three corporate programs: GoGreen, GoHelp and GoTeach.

GoGreen

GoGreen minimizes the impact of our actions on the environment by using resources in a responsible manner. We have been the first global logistics company to set ourselves a quantified C02 efficiency target. By 2020, we intend to improve our energy efficiency by 30 percent compared with 2007 - using such measures as more efficient transport, optimized planning, alternative sources of energy and innovative technologies. Additionally, Deutsche Post and DHL offer their customers a broad range of products to reduce and offset their carbon emissions.

GoHelp

Together with our partners, we strive to improve people's living conditions. Our core logistics expertise helps us achieve these goals. We partner with the United Nations to provide effective emergency aid in areas affected by natural disasters. We also organize training programs in regions at risk to prepare for logistics challenges in emergencies. With the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) we have established a partnership to reduce child mortality.

GoTeach

GoTeach stands for our commitment to better education and to equal opportunities for education. Education is a prerequisite for social progress. That's why we are promoting and developing initiatives that support individuals in their development and expand their skill set.

Local Involvement

To bring these three programs to life, we rely on the voluntary commitment, the special abilities and the enthusiasm of our employees around the world.
