The 7-th meeting of the Joint Working Commission of States Parties to the Agreement on Cooperation for Prevention of the Intellectual Property Rights Infringements In pursuance of the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine # 20345 of August 9, 2003, the Ukrainian delegation composed of Mr. Valentyn Chebotarev, Plenipotentiary of the Government of Ukraine in the Joint Working Commission of States Parties to the Agreement on Cooperation for Prevention of the Intellectual Property Rights Infringements, Deputy Chairman of the State Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Mrs. Inna Shatova, Head of the Department of the State Department of Intellectual Property, Mr. A. Bulavin, an officer of the Security Service of Ukraine took part in work of the 7–th meeting of the Commission held on September 24-25, 2003 in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus. Among the meeting participants there were also representatives of the Republic of Armenia , Republic of Belarus , Republic of Kazakhstan , Republic of Moldova and Russian Federation . During the meeting there were considered and discussed activities of the state authorities being responsible for implementing the Agreement on cooperation to suppress infringements in intellectual property sphere. Besides, at the meeting recommendations and proposals of states-parties regarding management of fulfilling the cooperation tasks were considered, remarks and suggestions concerning a draft Concept of interstate communications management and building up national databases to provide prevention and suppression of infringements of intellectual property rights of the states parties were brought up as well as the reports of plenipotentiaries about the current state of implementing the 6-th meeting resolutions and a draft model Plenipotentiary Provision were heard. The sitters became acquainted with an electronic version of the information-and-reference intellectual property protection manual and discussed a draft agenda of the next meeting scheduled for March, 2004. The Schedule for 2003-2004 and Resolutions of the 7-th meeting of the Commission (the Minutes being enclosed) have provided for measures the realization whereof requires the following authorized bodies of the states parties to the Agreement to be involved: Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy and European Integration of Ukraine, Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, State Customs Service of Ukraine, State Tax Administration of Ukraine, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, State Committee for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy.
