Subsequently the Institute have recognized across the world. And now, we have not lost the obtained position. Ukraine has has already 18 years independent democratic development. One of the business cards of our young country is a developed information technology that is an affair of mind and hands of our collective.

   The Institute of Mathematical Machines and Systems Problems of the Ukraine National Academy of Science (IMMSP NASU) was formed in 1992 as a direct evolution from the Special Design Bureau of Mathematical Machines and Systems (SDB MMS) of Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics. The SDB MMS was created in 1963. It with full right to be called the cradle of the first known PC MIR, the control machines "Dnepr", the specialized computer complex (SCC) "Delta" and other control systems. IMMSP NASU has grown on this solid foundation. Today, IMMSP NASU is a leading national scientific center in the situation control sphere, modelling making decisions and other innovative information technologies.
    Of course, neither machines nor technologies make the Institute, it is our talented, purposeful, dedicated people who are constantly searching for innovative and creative applications of technology, who are possessed a scientific idea, searching. The scientific potential (brainpower) of the Glushkov's school that was created over four decades and now is further developing, enriching, generating new ideas, new technology solutions. It is introducing society in the boundless world of knowledge.
    IMMSP NASU that is a part of the Section of Information of the National Academy of Sciences is structured with 11 research divisions and 2 technologically and design divisions with 300 employees.
    IMMSP NASU concentrates research in such demanding fields as automated systems for ecological monitoring, decision making simulation, intelligent information systems based on neurocomputers, systems for the testing of microelectronic production of NCS technology, space research, information security in computer and telephone networks, information technology for health protection and many more. It is still far from complete list. The importance of many of these research areas for the developing Ukraine democracy cannot be exaggerated because one unresolved strategic problem can cause hundreds of new tactical problems. That is why the modeling of social and political processes is very important for Ukraine during this transition period. The systems approaches developed by our leading specialists with scientific and analytical support and corresponding information systems technologies that are strengthen the importance of making decisions in highest state level and have become as essential and important instrument for them.
    The most important research and development has been devoted to the Situation centre of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and for the information analytical system "RADA" of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. By the way, our Institute is the base organization that develops the organizational systems of the Ukrainian Parliament.
